If the vote for Speaker on opening day confirmed anything, it confirmed that simple fact. By having a dozen of his Republican colleagues either vote against him or not vote at all, John Boehner just barely squeaked by in his bid for a second term for Speaker.
The vote against Boehner wasn’t a vote against the Speaker’s actual performance. By all accounts, Boehner has done yeoman’s work leading the House under what can only be called difficult circumstances.
The vote against Boehner was really a vote against the Republican Party. It was a protest against Republican policies and against the Republican establishment.
Boehner should invite the 12 who voted against him to leave the GOP. They aren’t Republicans. They shouldn’t be allowed to masquerade as Republicans.

The Republican establishment sucks.
It’s not such a bad idea. Two road diverge in a yellow wood. I think the Republicans are taking the left-hand path — but I think all right-thinking people should go down the road less traveled and take the right-hand path. I’ve left the Republican Party, and if the GOP wants to kick out anyone who doesn’t support the Political Establishment, then I think it is a good thing.
I wouldn’t wait on an invitation. We need a Conservative Party that is effective. Our real message and positions are being kept out of the public discourse by RINOs and RATS. A conservative party, small as it might be, can articulate their positions clearly without being corrupted by the government class vermin.

Me. Feehery doesn’t know what he is talking about. It was the last congress that voted for Boner. The current congress started its business with adopting House rules. I suppose Mr. Feehery doesn’t pay very close attention to things and wouldn’t know a conservative principle if heard one.

What is a Republican?
That is the core issue facing the GOP. For decades people have voted and supported them. Yet, they don't have a platform they even stand on.
Smaller Gov't? Less spending? Secure borders? Free markets? etc.

OK, fine. We who think Bonehead is doing a liberal job of it will leave the Republican party. Don’t count on our votes for sh*t in any election; federal, State or local. My money stays in my pocket as well. If a candidate isn’t an independent patriotic American they won’t be getting MY vote.

No, we don’t need a conservative party.
Conservatives with their sanctimony and petty personal self righteous insistence are the problem. There can be no conservative party because there is no homogeneity among conservatives.
What is needed is a leader, a person that will electrify all conservatives and create a whole.
Sarah almost made it but fell short. Perhaps Governor Jindal or Senator Rubio or Sentor Paul will rise to that position.
