"Save Texas. It's the last." Words of warning.

Not long ago I was telling a customer that the product she was testing was from Oregon. The lady, who was probably in her early 70's, shivered when I mentioned Oregon and said she used to live there. I asked her if Oregon was too cold for her. She said, "No I ran away from Oregon to live in Texas." So I said, "Well good. I was reading a news article just this morning about how Texas is thriving with a budget surplus and low unemployment. She replied, "Oh I know, I've lived here for a while now. I ran away from Oregon because there are too many crazies there." (I suspected by crazies she meant leftists but was being circumspect since she did not know me.)

She went on to say she used to live in New York but left to get away from the crazies. She went to Oregon which was fine till the crazies from California started moving there too. "I love Texas," she said. "Save Texas it's the last." I said,"I know just what you mean and I agree with you." And she said again, "I love Texas. Save Texas. It's the last."

I had noticed from the beginning of our exchange that she had a foreign accent. So before she left I asked her where she was from originally. "I am from Russia, she said. "Save Texas. It's the last."

“Texas is not where you were born but a State of Mind, Heart and Attitude”

“Leave us alone to live our lives in peace and we will get along fine, if that is not satisfactory, we will deal with it.”

The O-B_tard has a few things to learn. FUBO!

Better hurry. Texas is turning blue fast.

'Tis true, unfortunately.

Remember the Alamo!!!!

Yes, but more important, remember San Jacinto. 18 minutes that defined Texas. Fitting conquest of an arrogant Despot.

They sure don’t want to hit bottom first. We did that in Michigan but its taken a lot of pain to start turning things around.

Talk about goosebumps of that kind, I GREW UP that way. My father was born into a Czarist family in Moscow in 1907 and he lived through the Russian Revolution, leaving for New York via ship before the country fell. He passed in 1980. I was an NRA member before I was even born. The family stories from his time in Russia I could recount would fry your hair.

Oh, if you mean Dallas, Houston or San Antonio, they are a bit bluish due to city folks and their share of holders people. Austin has been left since the good ole Rusty Weir, Jerry Jeff and Willie days. But the big cities don't control the state.

Can assure you Texas is no where near blue. The Texas attitude is contagious, even some of the Mexicans growing up here have it and even Kalifornia and Damn Yankee immigrants get it. Maybe not Michigan, last time they blackened the sky with U-hauls they didn't stay long, thank God. Nothing personal meant CC. You seem to be an exception.

But even so, what is Texas going to do with the liberals who are already there?

You might want to take another look at a red blue map of Texas.

I'm good with that. When I was a young airman stationed in New Mexico, and the babies were due, I sent the wife back home to Texas to have each of them. I wasn't gonna have my babies born outside of Texas.

I had the same intent when I was stationed at Ft. Lewis Washington, my pregnant wife would only be allowed to deliver in Texas, and we made sure of that of course.

I lived in Minnestoopid for ten years, and left when Gov. Mark Dayton made doing business there impossible. It is good to be back in Texas! Minneapolis was the perfect example of “barking moonbats”.

Youngest had a birthday yesterday. I wished her a happy birthday and asked: "Know why you were born in Texas instead of New Mexico?" She of course, knew the answer, and thanked me. Again.

My baby girl is as Texas as they come, and so are all her babies. The oldest? Meh, she's in California, and can stay there. Win some, lose some. I'll keep the conservatives close to home. ;)

I agree 1000%. Reminds me of the part in Braveheart where Wallace says “if I can live in peace I will........” and there’s that pause at the end that promises drastic consequences for those who would disturb that peace.

I came here almost two and a half years ago for economic reasons and would never go back (except to visit).

Five of the six largest counties of TX voted for Obama, but one of them may have been close. Tarrant was the largest county to go with Romney. South TX especially is Obama country.

“Anyone who wasn’t born here would have to leave..”

But.. but... basil...what about those that have been here since we were knee high to a hoppergrass? Raised in Dallas before it got kooky, married to a true blue west Texan and absorbed that culture, moved to east Texas and absorbed that culture, family in south Texas.

What state would accept such a person? I won’t go, I tell ya! I’ll have to become an illegal alien at this late stage of my life. I can fool the law by making a mouth melting chicken fried steak, green tomato chow-chow and wild plum jelly. Not to mention killing and cooking any game. I can catch, clean and cook my own fish...from my own lake.

Not gonna go...ain’t a happenin’ thing!
