The following letter, written by U.S. Marine Joshua Boston and headlined “No ma’am.,” was posted in the CNN iReport on Dec. 27 with the included note from the producer and photo. It has struck a nerve with many and is being circulated around social media venues like Twitter and Facebook.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

Respectfully Submitted,
Joshua Boston
Cpl, United States Marine Corps

No disrespect intended, ma’am, but...

There’s more important things going on here at the moment then “attitude towards women”.

I pretty much feel the same way as he does re Di Fi... she’s about two steps above Moron, and she’s trying to make law that blatantly oversteps her boundaries - law established in the Constitution that intelligent men - MORE intelligent and wise than she’ll EVER be - created.

As a matter of fact, they created the Second Amendment BECAUSE of the moronic mentality of people like her, and Babs Boxer, and Hillary, and that idiot woman rep from NY, McCarthy.

So, like I said, no offense, but he’s right on the money.

Even if they toughed it out until the usurper defrauded his way into power, what would have happened? Just a guess on my part, but I’d say both those anti-American skanks would have been delighted to have our military reduced to a skeleton force that would be laughed at by our foreign enemies but who would be thugs who would love to follow ANY orders given by our domestic enemies—especially if turned loose to wreak havoc on us one dissenting group at a time.

It is true that Clinton was a traitor who was Constitutionally elected and that Obama was not Constitutionally elected. But you ignored the majority of my post.

If all the decent, Constitution respecting patriots left the military, Obama could recruit his own force of amoral or immoral mercs and set them loose on us. He's already recruited some of them and some are in training. I think the decent, patriotic soldiers in our armed forces act as, at the very least, a brake on Obama's ability to pull out all the stops.

Regardless, no one is perfect, not even the hero who steps forward while those crouched in fear often find fault with his actions.

Perhaps your husband did act inappropriately, but one has to ask, who, why, and what, was the instigation. I bet he has a different take on the story.

I wonder what the government’s response would be if a few million or so wrote a similar letter.

Obama won't care. A couple million letters would just cause him to stiffen his resolve and double down. It's his M.O.

The harder he pushes, the faster the GOP caves. The more the GOP caves, the harder Obama pushes.

The Marine's letter is making rounds. I think our legislators are going to hear a resounding "NO" from constituencies across the spectrum. In this current climate of crime and drug gangs especially in and around population centers, there are only two types of people (for the majority). There are those who are unarmed and fearful knowing it, and there are those who are armed and watchful. The minority are those screeching to get the murderous assault weapons off the streets. We'll part with ours when police officers part with theirs. If they're good enough for them, they're good enough for us. ...nuff said.

Feinsteins act is criminal. I would see 10 criminals set free if she could get the sentence she richly deserves for violating our rights as free people.

Street crime is not why we need our guns. Our guns are to protect us from violators of our natural, God given rights, and Feinstein is the enemy in violation. Abusive politicians simply demand all power over our property, rights and weapons.

Good to hear from you my friend...I hope is all well by you and yours...

RE resounding No: People that I KNOW who have never even thought of buying guns have now done so - and they bought ARs. Regardless of the wisdom of that, folks know things aren’t right, and they’re responding to it the way they know how - with their wallets.

As for “assault rifles” last time I checked Webster’s Dictionary, “assault” was a verb. Must be a noun in the NEW Ebonics version or something, I dunno...

Regarding the Oath of Allegiance. All service members and members of our government take oaths that affirm the person “will support and defend the Constitution of the United States”. I have always thought it would really set off warning bells if Obama had our military re-swear their oaths like Hitler did.

When Hitler assumed power in Germany, one of the things he did was have the military re-swear their oaths to (in order): (1) Adolf Hitler himself, (2) Germany, and (3) German people. This completely changes the equation when those holding access to deadly force are sworn to do it for Dear Leader and not, as in America's case, its Constitution.

If this should ever happen, Obama has declared open war on America and its people.

Her proposed legislation and her oath of office are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. The two cannot coexist. I despise her for being underhanded and deceptive, but I hold her constituency in contempt for continuing to elect the tyrannous witch.

I don't respect any man that served the Usurper.

“We the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, with so little, for so long, weare now qualified to do anything, with nothing.”

#1 We don't serve anybody but We the People. Luckily for the other 312 million Americans we don't give a rat's ass about your "respect." The oath is to the Constitution of the United States, not to POTUS.

A few short years ago I could run faster than a 6 min mile and could hike with 120lbs of gear on my back. Now, after four combat tours I have shrapnel in my chest, a broken vertebrae, several bulged discs, severe degeneration, arthritis, bad hips, bad knees, and bad ankles and a blown shoulder; I struggle to do basic things like walk through a grocery store, or up the stairs in my house - standing to make dinner or do the dishes is a chore. Even getting down to hug my children causes intense pain.

But for the Grace of God go I and I count myself fortunate and Blessed, as many of the other young men I knew and served with didn't make it back - as a grown man I now cry every time I hear "Taps" or "amazing Grace" on the bagpipes.

When they do the POW/MIA-KIA ceremony it isn't just nice words spoken and a pretty poem. They revere and hold high our fallen; my friends. I remember their laughter. I remember the goodness of their heart. I remember their camaraderie. Their triumphs and their passing. I know what it is like to be washed in my buddies' blood - to see them put their fellow Marine above their own lives. "Respect?" You know not the meaning of the word.

We didn't volunteer because of any man or any President. Our job, our duty, our commitment to the American people does not end because of who is elected. We do it for the principles this country was founded on; we do it for our families and for millions that will never truly know the price or sweetness of freedom, but they may have it just the same. I say to you if we don't tow the line, who will?

You can take your idea of "respect" and stick it where the sun don't shine and kiss my white ass.

Now that you mention it...The Cotswolds are a location I’ve heard of often.

"The oath is to the Constitution of the United States, not to POTUS."

To protect and defend it.....

And yet our 'finest' seem to have no problem saluting the Usurper. Way to go, trooper.

That first photo fits the definition well.

1. an elevated tract of open country. 2. Often, wolds. an open, hilly district, especially in England
