AFP - No one wanted to be president less than Mitt Romney, his son said in an interview out Sunday that raises new questions about the candidacy of the losing Republican nominee.
In an interview with the Boston Globe examining what went wrong with the Romney campaign, his eldest son Tagg explains that his father had been a reluctant candidate from the start.
After failing to win the 2008 Republican nomination, Romney told his family he would not run again and had to be persuaded to enter the 2012 White House race by his wife Ann and son Tagg.
"He wanted to be president less than anyone I've met in my life. He had no desire... to run," Tagg Romney said. "If he could have found someone else to take his place... he would have been ecstatic to step aside."
Mitt Romney "is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them. He loves his country, but he doesn't love the attention," his son said.
Romney, a former Massachusetts governor and multi-billionaire businessman, has been widely criticized for blaming his loss in the November 6 election on President Barack Obama's "gifts" to Latinos, women and the poor.
"What the president's campaign did was focus on certain members of his base coalition, give them extraordinary financial gifts from the government, and then work very aggressively to turn them out to vote," Romney said during a call with campaign donors in mid-November that represented his first public reaction to his election loss.
The Globe story sought to look beyond that narrative and examine what really went wrong.
It focused on the fact that Romney was unhappy that one of his most trusted advisers, Mike Murphy -- the architect of his successful 2002 run for governor

Uhuh. Observe what we DIDN’T hear, AGAIN:
“I’d like to thank my opponent for bringing up the economy. Mr Obama, isn’t your National Finance Chairwoman Penny Pritzker, and didn’t her Chicago family-owned Superior Bank fail in 2001 from its innovations in Sub-prime lending?”
Nope, DIDN’T hear THAT. Just like we didn’t hear it in 2008, either.
GeeOpie, FAIL.

I wonder if they will ever have the common sense to realize that intentionally leaving Sarah Palin and Ron Paul out of the mix was suicidal.

And who was that supposed to appeal to, the choir? As if nobody in the Independent or Republican world knew what the hell happened in Benghazi?
Give me a break........
Obama won because Republicans sat on their asses at home while the Obamaphone crowd turned out in mass..........

Romney is a partner of Soros, and you all bought the KoolAide to the detriment of the USA.
If Romney is a partner of Soros, and Obama is a partner of Soros, then it really didn't matter who won did it?
As for "you all", are you referring to the 10,031,336 primary voters who voted for Romney giving him 52% of the vote while his closest competitor was Santorum with only 20.4% of the vote?
Yea, 10 million plus people are drinking KoolAide........
You're chowing down on too many peyote buttons...........

Office of First President & Living Prophet®: November 8, 2012
Fellow MORMON Freeper Christians!!
I must apologize and ask for forgiveness from you all.
As you know, we at Headquarters NEVER tell you pew warmers how to vote. It says so right in our press releases. Anyway, we were ALL thrilled to the max when there were two TWO! MORMONs being touted in the primaries: Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman.
Talk in our upper chambers high above SLC was how our gods were favoring us with these men; who had prepared their entire lives for an opportunity to save this Nation; which so badly needs guidance: OUR guidance even! So naturally, I and the other twelve analyzed and discussed the situation.
Consensus was that the voters should listen to the inner urging and vote for the one they wanted; but that seemed to be leaving WAY too much to chance.
I decided, that since I am the ONLY man on earth that can hear GODs voice, that I would pray for wisdom and clarity in the matter.
I hadnt used the fleece in a while, so I questioned GOD with a test. A paper, with Romney on one side and Huntsman on the other was to be placed by the air conditioning vent high above my desk in the sumptuous office the Full Tithers have provided.
When the air would kick in later in the evening, while I was home, the paper would be blown down and whomever GOD wanted would then be visible on the upper surface.
As you can probably guess, when I came in the next day, the paper had landed on my desk, with Mitts name on top.
Last night, I was staying late, praying to GOD about how it was even possible that Mitt lost, when the janitorial cleaning crew came in. Being surprised to find me here, they apologized for interrupting me. I said to them, It mattereth not, as I was about to leave anyway.
As I was going out the door, the foreman of the crew just happened to mention that my office is ALWAYS so neat and tiny, never anything out of place, that they barely have to do anything to tidy up. Then one of the sweepers said, Except that time in the spring when we came in to clean and found a paper with Huntmans name on the floor by your desk. We put it back on your desk and left.
Tommy M.
PS Keep praying that Huntsman will add an H to his name. Jon looks so dang effeminate!
Onward to 2016!!!

Wrong!
Conservatives did not vote for Romney because they are sick and tired of crap Republican liberal candidates.
They did vote for other candidates..........conservatives want conservatives to run and that was NOT Romney.
