it opens next month.
Its a propaganda film, and its pure BS. There is no evidence that hydraulic fracturing causes farmland to become unproductive the way its depicted in Promised Land. Weve been fracking for 60 years in this country and if fracking destroyed farmland we would know about it.
We dont know that.
But what we do know is that the financing of Damons anti-fracking propaganda film comes from the United Arab Emirates. As in, an Arab OPEC nation. Whose interests are significantly damaged by the kind of full-scale domestic U.S. oil and gas production fracking holds the key to.
Meaning Matt Damon has worked with foreign interests to make a movie which is not based in fact and would have the intended effect of turning American public opinion away from something which is in our national economic and security interests, and by doing so he is serving the interests of his foreign pals at the expense of his countrymen.

Socialists lie. Truly, that is the inconvenient truth.
Saw the previews. Pure anti-energy business propaganda.
I think Matt Damon fights the landowners who don’t want fracking. He actually plays the good guy. We have fraking in Pennsylvania and it is great!!! The landowners are nuts not to take advantage of it. My parents do and it is a wonderful source of income for them.
It will be REALLY hard to top that awful TV “earth day” special with Ed Asner and Doogie Howser.
He wrote it, he is Damon's co-star.
The premise of the film is utter nonsense, and it is being funded - in part - by Middle Eastern competitors of domestic companies.
I think that is how the movie begins. After a time, Mr. Damon's character "sees the light" and turns against his employer in support of "saving the land."
This is a marketing piece in favor of continued reliance upon Arab-sourced petroleum products. "Don't set your farmland on fire, buy your oil from the nice, tolerant Arabs!"
Like one freeper said once: The highest award in Hollywood is the Oscar which children win regularly. How many kids ever won the Nobel prize, the Pulitzer prize? When it comes to politics Matt Damon has the credibility of a 5 year old. Less even because my kid asked me once “Why would the President take peoples money if there are no jobs?” Yes, my son, daddy is proud of you! A conservative from birth! LOL!
If the trailers are any indications of the movie's content, he plays an "evil oil company sales executive" who begins to question what he is doing, becomes a "good guy" and quits fracking.
From this day forward to be known as Matt ‘Fracking’ Damon.
The four major awards are Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress.
Of the 340 of those awards, 337 have gone to adults.
One has gone to a teenager.
Two have gone to children, one in 1973 and one in 1993.
I wouldn't call that regularly awarding children.
The movie has no “hook” to draw a large audience. No sex, no drugs, no guns, no action, no killer fx, etc.
It basically sucks up OPEC money and emits clouds of SMUG-ness.
It will be a yawner.
It’s China Syndrome for fracking
It’s understandable. Getting fracked by Ben Affleck was quite traumatic for Matt.
Matt Damon can frack himself....
Next to westerns, I know I like nothing better than some real theater popcorn and a good anti-fracking picture.
Puke!
Boy it sure would be nice to go see an entertaining movie without a socialist message.
Matt Fracking Damon.
Fracking Mad Damon.
“Matt Damon.”
