Capitol Hill reporters on Twitter writing Speaker Boehner has dropped Plan B fiscal cliff vote tongiht after revolt from House Republican caucus. House will recess until after Christmas.
After raucus closed dooor House GOP meeting, Boehner says House has already passed bills to cut spending and taxes to avert fiscal cliff and the ball is the court of the Senate and President Obama.
“we already went off the damn cliff years ago”
So True and that just ticks me off when they keep playing this game. Time for Men, Honor, And Truth.
Because they look like the gang that cant shoot straight.
Here's my thoughts on that:
How it will probably play out#46
One freeper just told me in a comment that I am lucky-to make enough to pay taxes and should welcome a tax increase. is this DU ?
If the GOP wishes to survive, they had better pass it. This is playing out very badly.
I wonder how many votes they were short.
“Okay, so why does Mark Levin say this is a good thing?”
Because he is smart.
???? You still have me in shock with that one, and laughing too
I swear an rabid Obama supporter at work told me the same thing, and he is a black immigrant from Africa yet/.
They should have passed a clean bill extending the Bush Tax Cuts FOR EVERYBODY and fixing the AMT problem. They better do it when they get back. How can the Dems blame the Republicans for raising taxes when they pass a bill to NOT raise taxes?
What really changed is that Reid and Obama did not want the House to pass Plan B. It would have sent all the slop over to the Senate, which is totally dysfunctional. Reid pocketing a bill would not absolve him responsibility.
The GOP far right made a decision based on primaries in their own districts in 2014 rather than bitch slapping Obama and Reid tonight - and thru the holiday week.
This is now a rerun of last year’s payroll tax disaster.

Boehner is now a SINO, Speaker in name only. His leadership is done!
I guess I’m missing something. All I EVER HEAR on this site is complaints about too much deficit spending and too much social spending.
Well, BOTH are about to be cut, BIG-TIME, in just over a week. Yes, the middle and lower classes will have to START paying taxes again, but why so many complaints?
Y’know, the pubbies are going to come out of this smelling like shit anyway, they should jump on the elegibility issue ... HAMMER the sucker .. and at least get some fanatical voices back on their side.
I diagree. I think once Obama saw the GOP fold on taxes for those over 1M he’d come out and say something like “I’m glad Republicans are finally starting to get serious. I still believe in a balanced approach and that we need to restore the taxes on high earners over 250 back to the Clinton days, they’re just isn’t enough revenue from just those over 1M, etc...” and the media would have covered for him and backed him up and forced the GOP to concede even further.
At some point they have to stand up to Obama and see where it takes them.
I say hold out and see how things look when it really gets down to business on the 31st.
How about this for Plan take it or leave it?
20% cut across the board from the baseline of 2008... or how about we go back to Clinton’s last budget. Leave it up to each agency to figure out how to get their budgets to that level.
Promote it to the American people as you can’t spend over your budget, and we can’t spend over America’s budget.
You work hourly for wages?
I see.

House to Recess for Christmas with the Bush tax cuts for the RICH, oops, I mean Bush tax cuts for everyone to expire.
I think, let the rats own it. Let them own the increased taxes on everyone. The rats have lied for years about the current tax structure. Saying repeatedly that the Bush tax cuts were only for the rich.
Yet Gold is down 5.00 on the overnight spot market.
I hope gold keeps going down, I need to buy more :)
