FOX News White House correspondent Ed Henry asked Carney if the four State Department officials that resigned yesterday were “taking the fall” for President Obama and Hillary Clinton even though they repeatedly said that the “buck” stopped with them.
“I’m not sure what you are suggesting, Carney replied.
“There were some individuals that did a lot of reporting that turned out to be entirely false, based on the paragraph I just read, Ed.” Carney added testily, ” The facts in the report are the facts.”

Fox News did really push this story. Honestly, I think it was to try to save Romney’s sinking campaign.
Chris Stevens, the US ambassador killed in the Benghazi embassy attack was the most recent U.S. foreign service officer to be killed in the line of duty. Early on in the Benghazi narrative we were told that this was the first death in the line of duty since 1978. Which of course was the Jimmy Carter era, recently I’ve heard/read that it was 1988 ... the Reagan years. Can someone bring me up to date?

In 1979 Adolph Dubs, the US ambassador to Afghanistan, was kidnapped and killed. He was the last ambassador to be killed in the line of duty before Stevens this year in Libya. I don't know about 1988, but the bombing of the US embassy in Kenya killed 12 Americans. I wasn't able to find out how many of those were in the foreign service.
Hillary was one of those “taking a fall”. It caused a concussion or so it was told. But she didn’t take a fall politically, unfortunately.

Say what you want about Romney but he's a damned sight better than Obama but too many on here refused to see that--we have the mentality of following the leader off the cliff here on FR. We're lacking the ability to think for ourselves. We're more concerned about the approval of others.
0bama was notified immediately and automatically when the Benghazi consulate triggered the "Imminent Danger Notification System" alert. He did nothing.

Denial of requests for security were a dereliction of duty. The lies and misdirection about the "video" after the attack were fraud and malfeasance under the color of authority. The inaction during the attack was something more than that.
The failure to act during the attack is the direct equivalent of desertion IMO.
ONE man had the authority to act that night.
ONE man deserted his post!

Romney's campaign did not fail...the obama campaign, bought, lied, and stole the election..and we will all suffer for the next four years...and just possibly America will never be able to heal and return to a powerful Nation.
