Exactly, when seconds count the police are only 20 minutes away.
20 minutes is an eternity when gunmen are preying on unarmed children and adults.

The whole thing just boggles the mind.
As does the fact that other than there being a shooting at the school, EVERYTHING the news media reported was wrong.

20 minutes? Why? What took them so long? Unacceptable. In such a situation, 20 minutes is an eternity. All the more reason to allow teachers to conceal and carry in the schools! In fact, the training should be required.

If the state creates gun free zones then it has an obligation to provide armed guards. We do this in courts, airports and legislative buildings and other gun free zones but we don’t do it for our children.

Hochsprung heard loud pops. She, school psychologist Mary Sherlach and vice principal Natalie Hammond went out to investigate. Only Hammond returned from the hallway alive. She was wounded. Rest in peace, but you simply don't investigate gunfire without a gun. These 'liberal' rules didn't even let them take a knife to a gunfight.
Idiots. One armed and motivated teacher, or guard at the door could have prevented this.

And I am pretty sure that nothing else that urgent was going on at the time. Who was behind the slow response time.....Slowpoke Rodriguez?

So, what about the second man dressed in black who was arrested in the woods behind the school according to the early stories? The same one who multiple sources quoted as saying "I didn't do it." How does he fit in? Or did he in fact not exist?
It is hard to know for sure.

"Police and other first responders arrived on scene about 20 minutes after the first calls." Nice.
Good thing the school was a Gun Free Zone. That way, these poor people had no chance of protecting themselves from a gunman.

20 minutes? Not bad for a town about 1 square mile.

Well I looked up the town and they have a police dept. I live ina town that size there is NO reason that the police should have taken more than 5 min to respond, of course calls should have been made to 911 when the door was being shot out.

I live in a small town in Wisconsin and I once called the county sheriff’s office (NOT 911) about minor vandalism that had occurred the night before. Two officers arrived in less than 20 minutes for my non-emergency call!

Yesterday, 300,000,000 Americans didn’t go into a school and shoot children. To understand why something happens, it is sometimes useful to look at why it doesn’t happen all the time.

damn.. just damn...
that is an epic failure on the part of the police.
I had a rather harsh back and forth with our school district on how they where going to prevent this from happening at my kids school.
It basically ended with “for what I pay for the school I expect more than a sign to stop killers from killing my kids”

TWENTY MINUTES???????AFTER THE FIRST CALL. That is a terrible response time. Let’s hope the investigators find out what took so long. Were first responders hesitant to enter the building because shots were being fired? Were they waiting for a swat team to arrive?

The last resource I am going to trust to tell me what happened on that day is CNN.
