Crap. The new Generation 3 PMAGs are supposed to be shipping in January. Now it's gonna be about impossible to find one. First at a decent price, then at all.

In the wake of the tragedy, Democrats are calling to pass the Assault Weapons Ban. When asked by Breitbart News, Manchin disagreed that his remarks on MSNBC show his stance on the second amendment have flipped. "I didn't change my mind on anything. I think everything is open for discussion." It should be noted that Manchin, also known for breaking campaign promises on tax hikes, may have a difficult time explaining his turnaround on guns to voters in his own state. West Virginia, a state President Obama lost in 2008 and 2012, has one of the highest rate of gun ownership in the country: 55 percent own guns.
“I just came with my family from deer hunting,” Manchin said on MSNBC. “I’ve never had more than three shells in a clip. Sometimes you don’t get more than one shot anyway at a deer. It’s common sense. It’s time to move beyond rhetoric. We need to sit down and have a common-sense discussion and move in a reasonable way.”
Mr. Manchin made no mention of specific restrictions like his fellow Democrats have, he only referred to gun use in terms of hunting and sport and not self-defense.
“I want to call all our friends in the NRA, sit down and have this discussion,” he said. “Bring them into it. They have to be at the table. We all have to,” Manchin explained.
He later added, “I don’t know anyone in the hunting or sporting arena that goes out with an assault rifle,” he said. “I don’t know anybody that needs 30 rounds in the clip to go hunting. I mean, these are things that need to be talked about.”

yeah- I read that somewhere- (probably here) that you never max-out your clip. It may hold 30 but you only put 25 in there (or 28) to keep from stressing the spring to the max.

The physics on springs -
if you do not stretch or compress a spring past its point of “plastic deformation”, it will ALWAYS return to its original shape.
You don’t have to worry about overloading any magazine of decent quality.
You don’t have to worry about unloading your mags to save the springs.
The springs will not compress and “stay there”, ie, not load the last few rounds in the mag.
Questioning why we need guns other than hand guns, did you hear her going on about how her kid feels safe now and is this what we have come to as a country that we need armed cops at a school.
Maybe if she got out of her elitist circle and neighborhood she would know down here we have cops living in houses on school grounds and all schools have had cops and all cops are armed.
Moaning about those little bake ovens for kids only in purple and pink and her boy would like one in another color.
Now knowing she will take her kids on Christmas day to a movie and only knowing this after talking to a movie actor, I don;t know but day off, Christmas with the kids I know what I would do and it;s not wait till I speak to an actor or take them to a movie on that day.

Manchin is one of the biggest hypocrites who ever lived. He claims he’s “pro-life”, “pro traditional” marriage, he voted against lifting DADT, and he ran AGAINST ObamaCare. So can anyone tell me why this character is still a democrat and supports the most pro-abortion, anti-God president in the history of the country. WV is a red state and if he decided to switch parties he will be elected as a republican. The man is a hypocrite of the first degree. He has nothing in common with the party he belongs to, but still remains a democrat.
this is true but springs get old and ‘loose’ - look at an old car that sags on coil or leaf springs
I have had magazines that were not springy at all- but i assume they were not that way when sold
If an AR-15 is an assault weapon so is my little .22 rabbit shooter. Both operate the same way. You have to pull the trigger for each round shot.
We shouldn’t have to defend the defensive purpose of these things. Period.

In these days of violent armed home invasions, racial gangs looking for loot or revenge or simply someplace to ravage, and criminal flash mobs with the ability to gather in almost any neighborhood quickly (read: ObamaPhones For All!), the formula of what is "adequate" for proper self defense has changed. Also, budget constraints are causing many areas to cut back police coverage.
It used to be a nice .38 Smith and Wesson snub-nosed revolver was plenty adequate.
No more.
The threat has changed. It is less and less the lone robber or mugger who may or may not be armed. Hence, the need for high capacity magazines...
