Killing people is a moral problem not a societal problem. There are few people who want to talk about morality these days. Its no wonder that there are no longer any moral taboos. What was considered immoral 40 years ago is being made formally legal today by voters, legislators, and our courts. I believe there is a relationship between defining deviancy down and an increase in the disregard for other people. An uptick in Moral Misfits is the result.
The usual suspects are out in force calling for additional gun-control measures. School children are most vulnerable to gun violence. They cant defend themselves, and neither can the teachers. Schools are Gun Free Zones, but only for the law abiding. Criminals dont care about gun laws; thats why theyre criminals.
Thieves dont care about laws against theft, and rapists dont care about laws against rape. The same is true about drinking and driving. Weve just had a high profile drunk driving arrest. Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Josh Price-Brent was arrested early Saturday morning [December 8, 2012] on intoxication manslaughter charges involving a car accident that killed teammate Jerry Brown.
Laws wont stop people intent on doing harm.
So what do the law-abiding citizens do? They arm themselves just like they would in war. There are terror insurgents in the United States hell-bent on destroying others. Thats a fact.
Just the other day a young woman was murdered when she told three teenage thugs to get a job.
More people are killed in the United States through violent means than are killed in our current foreign wars. In March of this year, violence in Chicago had left 52 people dead more than twice as many as died in the March of 2011. There were 39 Coalition Military Fatalities in Afghanistan during the same month.
Schools should immediately develop a program where every teacher is trained in how to handle a firearm. All teachers must comply to get hired. If Israel can do it, why not America? Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America wrote the following in 2008: In the mid-seventies, a terrorist attacked an Israeli school bus, murdering over 30 children. . . . A majority of Israelis . . . found a compelling reason for putting guns in schools terrorists would get guns whether Jews were armed or not. As a result, schools in border areas, and school buses, were manned with gun-toting teachers or others assigned to be at the ready.
Signs should be posted around the school that read:
The teachers and administrators of this school are armed and trained in deadly force. Anybody attempting to enter the school intending to do harm will be shot on sight.
Instead, if a student draws what looks like a gun, hell be suspended for ten days.
And what should we do with those who are involved in a murder spree? They should be executed. The man who shot and killed a number of people at Gabrielle Giffords campaign rally and the man who killed the people in the movie theater are still alive.
There is no doubt that these men killed these people. Their mental state, either before or after the shootings, is irrelevant. They should be dead by now.
We need some public executions to send a message.
Lets stop blaming law-abiding citizens and go after the criminals.
The Democrats believe that their best ‘weapon’ against the 2nd Amendment will be new and very high taxes at the Fed, State, and local level on firearms and firearm ammunition.
Chicago’s Cook County drops bullet tax, keeps gun levy
By Mary Wisniewski | Reuters Wed, Oct 31, 2012
CHICAGO (Reuters) - The senior executive of the county that includes Chicago dropped a proposed tax on bullets on Wednesday but kept a plan to tax firearms to help defray healthcare expenses associated with the high rate of gun.
“It is very important to us to tax guns because we know that guns are the sources of the incredible violence we have in our neighborhoods,”
Under the plan, the county would impose a $25 tax on the purchase of firearms.
If approved by the board, the nation’s third most populous county with nearly 5.2 million residents could be the first major U.S. metropolitan area to impose a tax as a form of gun control, according to the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
“The notion of taxing ammunition may be traced to comedian Chris Rock, who once quipped, “If a bullet costs $5,000, there’d be no more innocent bystanders.” Before that, the legendary New York Democratic Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan suggested a 10,000 percent tax on the most destructive bullets. Make them too expensive, he theorized, and they would disappear.”
If Guns Do Not Kill, Tax the Bullets

The Economist - 1994
“The idea of a license for gun owners has been floated by Mr Clinton and by Janet Reno, the attorney-general; it is argued most strongly by Charles Schumer, a Democratic congressman from Brooklyn. Under Mr Schumer’s bill, which is now before Congress, every owner would have a national handgun card, issued after a thorough background check, and all gun transfers would be registered with the ATF.”
Agree. In fact, at church yesterday, my wife and I routinely sit by two middle aged ladies who are elementary school teachers. Naturally, our conversation quickly went to the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre. Out of the blue and with no provocation, one lady said “I don’t care what anybody says teachers should be able to arm themselves while at school if they want to.” Then, the other school teacher chimed in and supported what the first had said. Caught me totally by surprise for sure. Bw, both said they intend to get their concealed carry licenses.
What part of Shall Not Infringe do you not understand? Why should anyone have to get permission to exercise a God given right? You are falling into the liberal mind set, government gets to control. What if you had to get a license to post comments on the internet or to send a letter to your newspaper, Congressman, Senator or other government official, would that be ok with you? It is all an infringement on our rights.
The guy who executed the children also executed himself.
Life meant absolutely nothing to him. Your threats of execution are meaningless.
The solution to the problem is to fortify schools.
If there is something that is precious to you, then defend it.
If you don’t defend it, then it obviously is not that precios to you.
This society is falling to pieces, and I am not about to disarm. Not for any reason at all.
Who in the hell are you addressing this to?
I’m a life NRA member and no damned liberal!
First why should you allow the government to have the power to control you and your guns.
Second why set up special privileges for some special citizens be they former/present military, former/present law enforcement or anyone else. That is part of the liberal mindset and being a NRA member does not change it one iota.
Liberals believe that government has the power and that is what you are proposing.
OK, OK, Ratman. I see what you’re referring to and agree with you. Sometimes my fingers move much quicker than my brain!
I am, indeed, with you on this point.
Ok, I have seen many of your other posts and I know you believe in the Constitution. Unfortunately I find that too many do not get it and want to have the government the control, even here on FR, sad but true.
The liberal naivete is that criminals, terrorists and the insane will not be able to get guns in a gun free world hence the problem is solved. Countries like the UK and Australia that have virtually banned all guns are seeing an increase in gun crime. Somehow criminals are managing to get guns in their gun free world and now it is the law abiding and now unarmed citizen that is a easy target. If guns are the problem why aren't there shooting rampages at gun shows and NRA conventions?
When you say criminal you also think of many other names for that individual.
To me the most common one is “Outlaw”. To me this means someone who has decided to live outside the laws that bind normal men and women in a civilized society.
If you agree with that definition of “outlaw” aka criminal; what makes anyone think that they are going to obey a new law dealing with guns?
geez, you dont read much more than the first line, do you
Now that’s a damn good idea imo.

My Critical Analaysis of Mass Murder and Gun Control
It's past time to admit the simple truth. Having armed, law-abiding citizens all around us will keep us all safer than about anything else we can do...and it is proven in the statistics and what has happened in the past at such incidents when they were there.
