President Barack Obama will travel to Newtown, Conn., on Sunday to meet with families of those killed in the shooting rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School and thank emergency workers who responded to the tragedy, the White House said Saturday.
"The President will also speak at an interfaith vigil for families of the victims as well as families" at 7 p.m., press secretary Jay Carney said in a statement.
On Friday, an emotional Obama vowed to "take meaningful action, regardless of the politics," to prevent future tragedies like the shooting massacre, which killed 26 people at the school, 20 of them children.

He should have stayed in Washington, taken his OWN family to a church service, stopped the politics and prayed for these families...not fly off to get photo ops and make a big show of how he cares..DID HE CARE ABOUT OUR MEN IN BENGHAZI??? have we seen the truth of that event play out??? but my heart weeps for all in CT. that lost loved ones, there is nothing I can do about it, I’m just a grain of sand in the mix..but I still pray for them, and for all who suffer, such as people struggling in nursing homes with the end of life coming to them, for everyone in a hospital struggling with terrible disease’s..but all I can do is weep and pray for them for peace and comfort..and for all the goof balls out there, pray for them also to find help..so please don’t think me HEARTLESS.....

I have 3 children, all adults now, but I can’t imagine how awful it would have been if any of them had been killed - in a senseless attack by a lunatic - and a “celebrity Prresident” had parachuted down to get the press to photograph him on his good profile. He makes me sick, and the fact that he is trying to glom onto the deaths of these children is disgusting beyond belief.

I quit watching FOX this morning, They are becoming embarrassing at their exploitation of this.
Hubby and I got sick of the endless string of shrinks and past victims dragged out to tell people how we feel and how the victims families feel.
They actually act as though they want copycats so they can keep up the trauma. Enough is enough. FOX has always had a problem knowing when the story from them has moved into the tasteless realm.
The constant repetition makes me sick. If there is something new to add to the story, talk about it, then move on and let those people do their grieving.
Obama will use any disaster he can to move his agenda forward and the same can be said for his allies. He’ll gladly pimp these children’s deaths for his own gain.
This visit would be akin to pouring salt into their wounds.

I come from a small family having had a rather overbearing mother who was an immigrant from France after WWII...
I met my hub in the Navy, he’s one of 9 and from RI and very Catholic...
I guess it was a novelty but after I had my son, it got old real fast and while I appreciated hubs being a family kind of guy, I have separated from most of them, politics being one reason why. Yet his oldest sister is one of my best friends...we are the same politically but she gets squishy sometimes.
The rest are libtard lemmings...
