A crazed gunman dressed in black went on a rampage at a Connecticut elementary school this morning, in a massacre that left the shooter and 26 dead others - including 18 children.
Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother dead and targeted her kindergarten class at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., sources sais. Sources also told The Post that Lanza's mother was a teacher at the school and he "had a dispute with her."
Lanza is dead inside the school.
Lanza used two handguns and a .223-caliber assault rifle, an official said. The official also said that New Jersey state police are searching a location in connection with the shootings.
Police in Hoboken, NJ are questioning Lanza's older brother Ryan, 24, but he is not a suspect.

a .223 caliber rifle is a HUNTING rifle, not an “assault weapon”.
You won’t get far with a .223 against automatic weapons.

This is why I don’t pay attention to initial news reports. Maybe by tomorrow, a more accurate story will emerge.

Every reporter has also become an anal yist...hard to get the real story without a lot of blah, blah, blah.....
I suspect this young man has a severe mental illness. The mental health gurus decided about 20 years ago that institutionalizing sufferers of mental illness is not a solution.
Young men,in this age group, suffer most. They don’t like the meds because the meds result in a numbness that is uncomfortable. So they don’t take them. What they think is real to them and they act on it.
Wish someone would study the correlation between these mass murders and mental health treatment.
It isn’t firearms. It is untreated mental health problems.
If you can be in an institution for weeks for a broken hip, why doesn’t it stand to reason that institutionalization for severe mental health problem an option?

Don’t confuse the media with anything like facts. They wet their pants for incidents like this.
RYAN Lanza may need the Beasley Law Firm, the one representing George Zimmerman....boy is the media deliberately awful in reporting.
In this day and age of high tech....how can you mess up so much on one story?
Leventhal just ran his mouth saying the shooter had an “M4-style assault rifle” and a “10 mm [sic] Glock handgun.”
10 mm? Glock 20? What’s that even used for?
Probably felt that his mother loved her kids in her class more than she loved him. And this is how he got back at her.
This just in? We haven’t heard this news before, why the delay?!
Oops, there already is such a law.
Just goes to show, gun control does nothing to stop lunatics with murder in their hearts.
OK, Now let’s arrest everyone in the Tri-state area named Ryan or Adam Lonza!
Gotta keep DHS, TSA and CNN busy! They can sort it out later!
He parents were divorced. Initial reports say he murdered them both but who knows how accurate that is.
