On Thursday I asked that President Obama no longer consider me for the job of secretary of state. I made this decision because it is the right step for this country I love. I have never shied away from a fight for a cause I believe in. But, as it became clear that my potential nomination would spark an enduring partisan battle, I concluded that it would be wrong to allow this debate to continue distracting from urgent national priorities — creating jobs, growing our economy, addressing our deficit, reforming our immigration system and protecting our national security.
These are the issues that deserve our focus, not a controversy about me. On Sept. 16, when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was unavailable after a grueling week, the White House asked me to appear on five Sunday talk shows to discuss a range of foreign policy issues: the protests against our diplomatic facilities around the world; the attack in Benghazi, Libya; and Iran’s nuclear program.
When discussing Benghazi, I relied on fully cleared, unclassified points provided by the intelligence community, which encapsulated their best current assessment. These unclassified points were consistent with the classified assessments I received as a senior policymaker. It would have been irresponsible for me to substitute any personal judgment for our government’s and wrong to reveal classified material. I made clear in each interview that the information I was providing was preliminary and that ongoing investigations would give us definitive answers. I have tremendous appreciation for our intelligence professionals, who work hard to provide their best assessments based on the information available. Long experience shows that our first accounts of terrorist attacks and other tragedies often evolve over time. The intelligence community did its job in good faith. And so did I.

I was channel surfing and caught a few moments of NBC Nightly News.
Andrea Mitchell was reporting on Rice’s request to not be considered for the SoS position. Mitchell was claiming the mean ole obstructionist Republicans who were threatening to oppose Rice’s nomination as being behind Rice’s decision to not seek the position.
Mitchell’s allegations to blame the Republicans was extremely convoluted, but she gave the report with a straight face.
She did fall on her sword to protect Obama from revealing his treasonous dealings with the Mujahadeen Islamofascists , to whom he was busily distributing SAM missiles and other ordnance from Libya.But the fact is that
Benghazi was a staged event that went wrong.Obama is good at staging events, just like he staged the capture/assassination of Osama Bin Ladin.

I made this decision because it is the right step for consolidating progressive control over crackers who cling to guns and religion. I have never shied away from a fight for a cause I believe in. But, as it became clear that my potential nomination would undermine the successful campaign by President Obama’s media lapdogs to squelch any inquiry into his malfeasance in not protecting Americans, his cowardice in not defending them, and his dishonesty in describing the slaughter of four americans, including our Ambassador. Obama’s work of destruction is nearly done. It would be a shame if the nomination fight were to prevent his finishing the job.”
Although I never did consider Mitchell as being a serious journalist because of her very low intelligence, Rush has mad it even more difficult. Every time I see her or even see her name, I hear Rush Limbaugh doing his Andrea Mitchell impersonation. LOL!
There you go again, Susan. . .don't you see. . .this is the problem. WHO within the "intelligence community" provided you with this patently FALSE information? . . .that's what we want to know. . .who?. . got it?
LOL! Funny how Rice’s withdrawal comes just a few hours after it’s announced Hillary will testify on the 20th.. With news of Rice’s withdrawal I thought for sure today must be Friday!
Communists are so predictable. No way Obungle was going to let her go before a Senate Conformation Committee to try and cover for his lying deeds! Obungle will just make her his new national security adviser and that will be that!

Susan Rice is just another skirmish in a war started by the leftists long ago. She isn't quitting for the reasons she claims - she's quitting because she won't be able to stand up under withering questioning by Republicans. She, undoubtedly, knows about too many skeletons and zero is probably afraid they would be exposed under questioning.
Acording to the news tonight, though, that leaves John f'n Kerry as the next choice. His "Ugh!" factors are about as high as Rice's.
