Experienced negotiators, and poker players, always look for the opponent’s “tell” -- that one little blink or tic that helps them see through the opponent’s deception to reveal what the opponent is really thinking or what cards he really holds.
For those Republicans who thought Obama was actually serious about avoiding the government’s “fiscal cliff,” he just blinked and revealed his cards – and they show a hand that Democrats have held before and know how to play to entice Republicans into making a sucker bet.
What Obama said to reveal his hand was that Congress should pass his tax increase plan now and hold-off on making any decisions on spending cuts until next year.
To Capitol Hill’s establishment Republican politicians, never eager in the first place to make the hard choices involved in reducing spending, this sounded like manna from Heaven: an opportunity to pass a tax increase they see as inevitable, while looking reasonable and kicking the can down the road on cutting spending.
This is a sucker bet that got Republicans skunked when they raised taxes and President George H.W. Bush went back on his “read my lips, no new taxes” pledge.
And it is a sucker bet that even President Ronald Reagan, with all his political skill, took to his regret.

Of course they will fold, and Boehner will cry.
And no spending will be cut, but it will instead increase, and the testicle-less Republican leadership will wring their hands while whining, yet again.

No "negotiations" required, On orders from Boehner and McConnell, Chambliss and the RINOs surrendered faster than than a bunch of French whores - way before any shots were fired! Their strategy is to raise taxes now and the dims will cut expenditures - NEVER!
If they do, when they step up to announce the 'deal' may they be drowned out by the sound of a million raspberries.
we lose in every possible scenario.
we go over, the press hounds our side for 2 straight years as being the cause of a second recession. we then lose the house.
we don’t go over, a will still have stagflation, conservatives are still blamed... you see this is just as Orwell predicted... we lose the house.
the truth is what the Prez and the Press say it is.
it’s going to take a complete collapse of the United States for things to ever turn around... for now, we are just playing games.

Its a foregone conclusion.
What few are saying is that 0bama WANTS fiscal collapse.
He’ll take whatever power he can get along the way,
but he will still collapse the economy.
I’m reluctant to be critical, but this article is no more insightful than saying that Lucy has a “tell” that she is going to pull the football away from Charlie Brown right before he kicks it.
Of course Boehner will fold. The only question is will Lord Obama accept the unconditional surrender. He may prefer to go over the cliff.

That’s exactly what I’ve said. The GOP will be screwed in the press no matter what they do. They might as well do the right thing (and the job they were sent to do) and not play politics. They won’t win the political game because the press stacked the deck.

Power? Power over what? By the time Obama and the Dhimmicrats get through with America, the only thing they’ll have POWER over is a throng of slobbering, screaming babies demanding their Obamaphones and other freebies. When “he” takes all he can from the “evil” rich and can’t deliver any more “Obamaloot”, these throngs will riot and burn everything in sight - including him if he gets in their way.
Instead of concession and agreement wherein the blame is shared, why don’t they say that they firmly disagree with it, but see that the Democrats are willing to let people suffer, so they will simply vote PRESENT, sort of a protest. At least make it very, very, very clear who owns the whole thing. Otherwise, if they make an agreement and things tank, we will only hear that “Republicans are equally to blame.” So, take a stand OR vote “Present” but don’t share in the takedown actively please, Republicans.
This has happened before, so we can see what will happen.
Those who cause the collapse will re-direct the blame on “the rich”,
which basically means anyone that owns anything at all.
And in 0bama’s case, those he redirects blame on will invariably be paler than he is, giving his peeps an excuse.
