Good Morning, Canteen Peoples.
A little sad news to report today.
I regret to inform y’all that Sarah, the family dog, a 12yo Catahoula, crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning. She had a good run, but mounting health problems took their toll. If ever you could smell Death on a living thing, you could smell it on her.
Sarah now rests under a shady tree in the yard, next to another beloved family companion. The girls are making a plaster-craft headstone marker to honor her memory. The two cats, Ares and Loki, already know what’s happened. Amazing, how that works...
Sarge will be in and out all day.

Just donated a big box full of guy hard cover books via the local VFW to the Veterans Hospital. Thought our brothers residing there might appreciate them.

Just gave stuffed Teddy Bear to the “Widow Support Center” on post. Reason for that, is they take the stuffed animals, clean them up, and give them to the emergency responders to have on hand to give out to upset children when the answer a 911 call. Ypu’d be amazed at getting a stuffed animal to hold at that time calms an upaet young child down.

Good for you. As the nieces and nephews have grown and moved away, that is what I do with the stuffed animals that lived at our house. They do wonders for scared kids.

I like to go to a park and watch the moon come up. There is little between the horizon and the top of a little hill.

Getting stuffed animals to clan and repair as needed for this warms the hearts and brings smiles to the Military Widows around this town.

Sorry to hear that OS. We had to have our poodle put down several years ago. She was 17 and a few weeks. She rests in the garden area.
It’s hard to lose a pet and we went from a 14 lb pup to a 55 lb pound Old English Sheep Dog. Wait until you know what the replacement will be. Puppy energy VS control.
