The door is locked so that the clerk remains safe. Then the bozo went outside to argue with these hoods. THe clerk was smart enough to go outside packing heat but would have been better off just putting up with their mouthing off at him and staying inside.

Opening the door for scum is always a bad idea.

Obviously, the clerk is “White” or there would be NO PROTEST.

Being right doesn’t help you keep your job. He was fired because the owner was afraid of the savage mob.

By the way, it doesn't look to me like the clerk "came outside".
It looks like he remained in the doorway, inside.

Someone punched the clerk in the face and the clerk pulled out his gun and shot Calloway in the stomach, according to HPD.

Seems like the identity of the 'someone' who punched the clerk is obvious - he's facing the camera. Why not simpy give his name?

This 'journalist' makes it sound as though the clerk shot the wrong guy, likely on purpose.

Agree he should not have opened the door. Glad that he was ready to defend himself though, and that he followed through when needed.
