So what does it mean if you prefer white chocolate?

This country has elected, and by a narrow margin, reelected a Negro as president. It has caused so much cognitive dissonance in the Marxist Moonbats that, instead of proclaiming victory of a colorblind society, they see racism in almost everything, Chrissie Matthews style. Sad.

But wait! Eating white meat means you are racist. But eating watermelon means you are racist! How can that be? Maybe it’s just that anyone who has been designated as “white” by the government is labeled racist. Breathing while white is racist.

I am a pale male lesbian who likes dark meat and milk chocolate.

I am so confused.

Slightly off-topic — but only slightly — when it comes to chicken, Russians prefer dark meat. This fact has proved to be a boon to big chicken producers (Tyson, Pilgrim’s Pride, Perdue, etc.). As frozen chicken breasts, boneless breasts, and wings have become popular for U.S. consumers (who can’t be bothered to cut up a whole chicken), the value of legs and thighs would have plummeted, if not for demand from Russia.

Have you been enjoying your Thanksgiving turkey leftovers? Do you have a preference for the white meat? If you do, then racism could explain why you prefer the white meat to the dark meat.

I note that his choice of black pixels with which to convey this moronic screed can only be motivated by racism. Fucking oxygen thief.

OMG — I have once again been exposed to sheer stupidity and find it as a singularity: void and tasteless.

I forget which city (Boston or New York) but I asked for a cup of coffee at a hotel and after an employee asked how I preferred it, my response was “just a regular coffee.” She poured cream or milk and was about to add sugar. I said again “I just want a regular coffee” and she told me that “This is a regular coffee.” I told her I didn’t want a milkshake, just coffee. So, no white stuff in my coffee; how “progressive.” And oh, I like white turkey meat.

Slate Writer: Racism Could Explain White Turkey Meat Preference

And, stupidity would explain why a "writer" would make a statement like that. Well, stupidity and racism.

And these are ciabatta-bread people, not Wonder Bread people! Do they still associate white meat with refinement? It was enough to make me wonder whether there could be a racial, if not racist, subtext here. Perhaps there is a clue in the shifting fate of the "other white meat"—pork.

(Snip)

It was then I learned the etymology of the phrase in America. It hails from the plantation days, when the white slave owners dined on choice pork chops cut from "high on the hog" while the slaves made do with the lower parts of the pig—the ham hocks, the pigs feet, the pork bellies, and the innards. White meat was high on the hog, but not higher on flavor than other (often darker) cuts. Indeed the "other white meat" now available most frequently in lean and tasteless pork chops and cutlets has little more taste than white meat turkey.

Despite its superior taste, dark meat has dark undertones for some. Dark meat evokes the color of earth, soil. Dark meat seems to summon up ancient fears of contamination and miscegenation as opposed to the supposed superior purity of white meat. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that white meat remains the choice of a holiday that celebrates Puritans.

Indeed, the connotations of the pale and darker parts of the turkey constitute a meaty metaphor for the Thanksgiving feast itself. The allegedly more refined and daintier white parts, the wings and breast, have never touched the ground the way the earthier darker legs have done. And you know how dirty dirt is.

(Snip)

Maybe that's why I have a prejudice against the white-meat sacrament of the holiday that covers up the white man's crimes.

It's Lowell writing about his pilgrim ancestors who began the rolling genocidal slaughter of those nice Native Americans who made the first Thanksgiving possible.

The real Thanksgiving story is extremely dark, far darker than any leg and thigh meat.

Could fear of facing our dark history be behind the prejudice against dark meat? Or is there more to the darkness of dark meat that feeds that fear?

Dang it! He figured me out! I was hoping I could take my secret of why I prefer to eat white meat to the grave!

Racism is why stupid blacks think anything white is bad and anything black is racist. I know blacks that won’t eat “white bread”.

What a loon!

Dark turkey or chicken is tastier, and healthier.

White meat lacks sufficient fat, and usually results in constipation for most people, and they don’t even know why.

If, as I suspect, the author is married to a JAP (Jewish American Princess) as the name suggests, the reason he thinks the following: “White meat turkey has no taste.” is simple.

JAPs make reservations for dinner except for the occasional holiday meal, and it seems probable his wife attempted to cook a turkey. Poor chap was likely given the “Greek God Special Plate” - a thick serving of burnt offering.

On this fowl thread, let's take a diversion to another chicken-related topic -- the Victorian influence in the names of chicken parts.

The Victorians were so prudish that not only could certain human body parts not be seen in public, they couldn't even be talked about in polite society. And this prohibition was carried over to chicken parts. Ergo, a "leg" was far too crude, and was referred to as a "drumstick." A "thigh" was out of the question; hence "second joint." And God forbid that "breast" be mentioned -- it was simply "white meat."
