Posting this at the request of FReeper "basil"
I have a request to make of those of you who are praying folks.
We've had a horrible accident involving 6 or our grandchildren out at our ranch. They were all piled on the 4 wheeler (as they've done many times before), tooling around off road, and somehow, the thing flipped.
Thanks be to God no one was killed, and we actually only had one of them seriously injured. She was in surgery over 7 hours today. She suffered a severe compound fracture of her lower left leg l, and they had to put a steel rod in it, and worse than that, she suffered 6 broken spinal vertebrae. Her name is Avery and she is 10 years old.
Another granddaughter who is a freshman at Texas A & M suffered what was first thought to be a separated shoulder, but again, thanks be to God, it was only displaced and the doctors were able to pop it back into place. She'll be sore for a while--but she can handle that quite easily.
The rest of the kids suffered bruises and scrapes, and a few road burns, but we are so thankful that it wasn't a lot worse.
Thanks!
Mari
Prayers of healing for Avery & Molly and prayers of comfort for your family during this dificult time.
Prayers lifted....
Prayers for basil’s family, especially Avery and Molly.
Indeed, no news is likely good news. With the vertebrae fractures - I’m assuming there are no compression fractures (meaning it’s not impinging on her spinal cord)? Did they tell you which area of her back is broken - I’m assuming lower back with the leg injury as well?
Sorry if I’m sounding really nosy - you don’t have to answer ANY of these questions, obviously, and I hope you’ll forgive me if they are an intrusion.
Regardless, I’ve been thinking about your granddaughters and praying since hearing this scary news last night. It’s touched me somehow in some way I can’t quite explain, as even though you and I don’t know each other well, they’ve been on my mind last night, and when I woke up this morning as well.
My prayers for ALL of you continue, but most especially for Avery and of course, Molly as well.
Prayers for complete recovery of all.
Prayers for Basil’s grandkids.
Prayers lifted and Praise to God for no fatalities!

Praise God there were no super serious injuries. Prayers up!
Your thoughts and prayers are much appreciated.
We are waiting on an update today. My son is waiting on the doctors to come in as a group and talk to him and Avery’s mother.
