MONTGOMERY, Ala. Roy Moore, forever known as Alabamas Ten Commandments judge, has been re-elected chief justice in a triumphant political resurrection after being ousted from that office nearly a decade ago.
Republican Moore defeated Jefferson County Circuit Judge Bob Vance, a Democrat, to win back his former office.
Its clear the people have voted to return me to the office of chief justice, Moore said.
I have no doubt this is a vindication. I look forward to being the next chief justice, Moore told a crowd of sign-waving supporters.
Moore thanked supporters at his party for sticking with him through what had been an up-and-down night that had Vance out to an early lead. Moore eventually won the race with 52 percent of the vote with 99 percent of precincts reporting.
Go home with the knowledge that we are going to stand for the acknowledgment of God, Moore said to shouts of Amen from supporters.
Moore was elected chief justice in 2000, but a state judicial panel removed him three years later after he refused to obey a federal judges order to remove a 5,200-pound granite Ten Commandments monument from the lobby of the Alabama Judicial Building.
Moore still maintains the federal judges order was unlawful and that he should not have followed it. But he has promised he will not return the Ten Commandments when he returns to the court. Moore said the issue was never about a monument but about the acknowledgement of God.
Vance, 51 said he knew it was an uphill battle when he entered the race. Vance, the son of slain federal Judge Robert Vance, joined the race in August after Democrats disqualified their former candidate. In doing so, Vance agreed to mount an abbreviated campaign against the nationally known Moore.

Great, another filthy so con in power. /s
Judge Moore is worthy of a seat on the SCOTUS instead of all those unworthy leftist drecks there now. We know who they are.
Guess we will just have to approach the future elections and fight against socialism by winning elections state by state!
So who cares what you think. We voted him back in. We wanted him back in. He was at my church a few weeks before the election and spoke. He is a very smart man. He is a US Military Academy grad. He stood there for over an hour, without notes, and spoke about God, country, God in the founding of our country. He spoke of events, people by name, who, what, when, in the founding of the nation and our Founding Fathers. He spoke from his heart. It was liberals who wanted him out. It was not about what he did, but what he would not do. That was toss out God. Frankly I could give a rats real pockets what you have to say. Stick to your own state. HE won and another lady also defeated the only other dim in the main state offices. Now the entire state government lacks a stinking socialist in office. The entire supreme court, state positions, majority in state house in both houses. No liberals in charge. You can only wish to have all that.
You are right and we must assume this will be a decades long battle. We need younger people who will be committed to this fight for it to be successful. The ranks have been watered down over the years, but we have to be optimistic for the long run, and to motivate those who will fight after us.
One silver lining of the 2012 elections is this -— REPUBLICANS STILL CONTROL THE GOVERNORSHIPS AND LEGISLATURE OF 30 of the 50 STATES IN THE UNION.
*sigh*
RE: Judge Moore is worthy of a seat on the SCOTUS instead of all those unworthy leftist drecks there now. We know who they are.
Imagine, JUST IMAGINE, the huge battle in Congress if some President in 2016 were to nominate Judge Roy Moore to the SCOTUS.
I betcha ( with apologies to Sarah Palin ) there will be a fuss bigger than the Bork and Clarence Thomas nomination COMBINED.
Geesh! Cripplecreek was being sarcastic! There’s a group of FReepers, generally libertarians, who think we should ignore social issues and focus only on fiscal matters. I think cripplecreek was poking fun at them.
Pssst, he even used a sarcasm tag. Your rant was for all for naught.
No liberals in charge. You can only wish to have all that.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
What you said is very significant. Look at what happened to Allen West in Florida where the election was rigged against West. Florida is no longer a free state, it has liberal fascists in charge who try to pose as blue dog democrats,. They are not, they are butt fugly fascists who would do anything to keep power so they can steal from the People.
You are lucky in Alabama. With no liberals in charge, you have your freedom, while most of the rest of the country does not. Hell most of the rest of the country has its head up its collective ar$e and doesn’t even know yet the trouble we are in with all of the electoral fraud that happened in swing states. The USA is no longer a free nation. But Alabama is free. It still has its Republic, so long as it can keep it.
Judge Roy Moore is precious. And its good to see him back.
Definitely have to make sure that the Republicans that are elected are full fledged conservatives. The Conservative RNC will have to adapt a tunnel vision approach to monitoring each state’s focus to winning seats, with careful attention, ample financial support and technical guidance to each individual state once we gain more and more seats. There has to be a well organized machine for each state to where the radical liberals can not penetrate, weaken, divide or water down the solidarity of conservatism. State by State! We Shall Dominate!
Chalk one up for the good guys.
Moore is a hero to many on the Right because of the 10 Commandments issue, but he is very liberal on the civil-justice issues that make up most of the courts' work. His campaign this year was funded largely by donations from plaintiffs' trial lawyers. He is not a friend to business interests in litigation.
Check out the mewling moderate mob on this thread desperately crying for “sanity” (Silence from social conservatives)

And in this one, you’ll find FReepers claiming that the GOP needs to pander to the mighty atheist vote.

“Guess we will just have to approach the future elections and fight against socialism by winning elections state by state!”
It’s already happening, classified, right in front of our eyeballs. In 2010, conservatives and patriots took over 25 states. That number increased to 30 after the 2012 election. If conservatives are wondering where our army is to take on the criminal fascist syndicate occupying Washington, it’s in those 30 states. All we gotta do is get involved, find leadership and organize it.
BTW, those 30 states represent more than half the population of the US.
God bless Roy Moore!
