Dear Friend,
As the Christmas shopping season begins full swing, AFA has prepared its annual "Naughty or Nice" retailer list.
We have taken the top 100 national retailers and reviewed their websites, media advertising and in-store signage in an effort to help you know which companies are Christmas-friendly.
Over the past seven years, your AFA has stood firm in the "War on Christmas." Companies who used to refuse to acknowledge Christmas now have Christmas "shops" inside their stores. Many of them now liberally use "Christmas" in their advertising and in-store signage. Sadly, there are still some companies which refuse to use "Christmas." They continue to insult and offend Christian shoppers by sticking with their politically correct "holiday" term.
These lists always get murky because there are plenty of stores on the “pro Christmas” list that are still “off limits” to Freepers due to politics, Costco for example.
Never mind that He was probably conceived on Hannukah and born in September during the Feast of Tabernacles.
Christmas is a made-up holiday, which I love to celebrate. But I would rather we live it all year long rather than expecting a secular world the pretend to be pious a couple of weeks in December.
Can’t hardly get around these days without running into Lubavitcher Jews. Everywhere. Just everywhere. Can’t throw a rock without hitting one.
They’ll probably riot, what with their great numbers and notorious reputation as vandals, and cause Eric Holder finally to support Israel...at least at Christmas time.
You got it part right. What you missed is that the pine was used in pagan winter solstice festivals before Christianity got within a thousand miles of the place, hundreds of years earlier.
Actually I know a Loki worshiper. I don’t know if she puts of a tree. One of my Jewish friends likes to put up a tree, all white and blue lights.
The fact of the matter is the primary symbols of Christian celebration of Christmas are mostly borrowed, and are still shared. They really ARE holiday trees, whether you’re willing to admit it or not.
For what it’s worth, every holiday is a made up holiday. Made up by someone.
And celebrating the incarnation/birth of Christ flows from the nativity accounts in Matthew & Luke, and the incarnation account in John.
Pine is used everywhere, everyplace.
It makes as much sense to consign pine to a particular group as to consign the use of a building to a particular group.
Priests were using cedar in the time of Moses, ca1400; David,ca1000 was using evergreen in the Temple
Isaiah said, in about 700 BC, “Isaiah 60:13 “The glory of Lebanon will come to you, the pine, the fir and the cypress together, to adorn the place of my sanctuary; and I will glorify the place of my feet.”
That’s written history.
I don't blame the companies entirely. It's the majority of the population (including many on this thread) that demands the birth of Christ be celebrated via the exchange of plastic crap from China.
JC Penney?????!!!!!

Yeah, tells me all I need to know about this list.
Yeah, NOW the pine is used all over the place. But it wasn’t part of the Christian celebration of anything until the 16th century.
Now you’re on track, consigning the pine to a particular group, like Christians, doesn’t make sense.
Nice written history, and what’s it have to do with Jesus’ birthday? Oh yeah, nothing. At least until the 17th century when a bunch of central European Christians decided they looked nice all decorated for those pagan holidays and why not use it for the Christian holiday.
I spend my Christmas money on Christmas presents to give to people at Christmas and if some can;t say that then they don;t take my money.
Simple.
I see all the time Hannukah mentioned, I see other holidays mentioned.
Christmas is a federal holiday, if one wants ot be a gringe then so be it but they do not get my money.
exactly
It is Christmas it is a federal holiday, we purchase because of Christmas and if they cannot say Christmas then so be it, they do not get my Christmas money.
For those who like I have just read you guys need to stop pinning yourselves to a cross, well I do not go to church I respect what this country was founded on and what holidays were celebrated way back.
Seems those who dont;see a bigger picture here is are the same folks who think Christianity is stupid and homosexuals marrying is alright
And this list has the pro-homo Target on its good guy list.
thank you for seeing a bigger picture about this.
Seems some think this is just about Christmas and being PC to non Christians or those who celebrate traditions and Christmas and not understand how the left wants to take the word out of Christ at every chance.
I wish some would wake the hell up that is if some are not trolls or the usual typical idiots whon think homosexuals should marry because it is not a big deal and cannot see a bigger picture and agenda
most celebrate Christmas whether that pisses off the idiots on the left or not.
Christmas is Christ being born and what this country had for a tradition.
The turds which don;t seem to think this is not a problem by not saying Christmas seem to not understand what the reason why the left wants to not say it in stores.
It;s Christmas, the founding fathers wanted this, it;s a federal holiday and if stores then can;t be bothered for PC reason or more of a anti Christian view then so be it.
Onlyin America does this crpa happen and I;ve been to many countries where they ave more lefty loons than we do here so that speaks volumes about the idiots saying so what
Target, homo depot, etc will neevr get my money no matter how many times they say Christmas.
Nobody is failing to acknowledge your presence. But maybe you should be acknowledging the presence of others
Your presence, you do know you are on a pro God Pro Christian conservative website right, what’;s next posting you guys need to stop nailing yourselves to a cross.
OH wait.
you’re right, some don;t celebrate thanksgiving so stop saying it, , hey I know many which do not do 4th July so lets stop saying that.
I mean after all you said it, why not acknowledge others and lets not have any holidays and lets get rid of THIS FEDERAL holiday
ARF
The reason why it;s a holiday is because it;s Christmas, that is it, if some want to join the left an dnot have stores say it then so be it but there is a bigger picture why the left wants to get rid the saying of Christmas
I mail Christmas cards, I wish people a Merry Christmas, and I don’t care if they respond or not. I live in a area that is somewhat rural, with towns here and there. When people encounter you in stores, hospitals, the mainstreets in towns, ANYWHERE, they say hello to you. I moved to this area from the western suburbs of Chicago, and I have never encountered people who were more warm and cordial than the area I now live in. It is a good feeling to freely express warm greeting, and Merry Christmas is just one example. Life is also a little slower in these areas and I thank God I have found this area at this time of my life...slower in pace, I might add, but NOT in technology. I do not miss for one minute the cold, indifferent, hysterical pace of people that I have left behind. And with that I will say Merry Christmas AFTER Thanksgiving, and maybe I will add the message from Tiny Tim and that is “God bless us everyone.”
Most celebrate giftmas, which they call Christmas, but really their celebration has nothing to do with Christ.
Actually the founding fathers have no record of caring about this one way or the other. Federal holidays aren’t in the Constitution, technically all they really are is Congress giving federal EMPLOYEES a day off, whether or not private employers chose to follow suit is 100% up to them. And Christmas didn’t become a federal holiday until 1870.
The part of this that only happens in America is the incessant whining of the section Christian community that desperately wants to be persecuted. In the rest of the world companies include or don’t include the word Christmas as they see fit and nobody worries about it.
