Carlos Gutierrez, adviser to Mitt Romneys presidential campaign, said Sunday he was shocked by Romneys comments this week on minorities.
I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesnt belong.
CNN reported:
In an interview set to air in full Sunday on CNNs State of the Union with Candy Crowley, Gutierrez also sharply criticized Romneys remarks made on a call Wednesday with donors following his loss in last weeks election. Romney explained his loss in part by pointing to gifts President Barack Obama gave to certain groups that turned out in high numbers.
Gutierrez, the former secretary of commerce, said he was shocked by Romneys comments.
I think we lost the election because the far right of this party has taken the party to a place that it doesnt belong, he said. We are the party of prosperity, of growth, of tolerance. I mean these immigrants who come across and what they do wrong is they risk their lives, they come here and they work because they want to be part of the American Dream.
lost because it was a rigged election and Col West is the only one fighting this.
Does anyone else see the irony of Candy “Candy-bar” Crowley interviewing him?
You keep your softball "too nice" RINO moderate-losers...
(Dole.... McLame.... Romney....)
We'll take a new party...
Shut up Swino!
FUMR!! (but I repeat myself)
These people will never win an election again. They exclude the base and then blame them for losing.
I keep hearing or reading this obvious lie about how the Republicans have gone to the extreme right when they have done the exact opposite.
I am not an expert on Communist techniques but telling extraordinary lies with a straight face must be one of them.
This guy is wrong. Most illegals are now coming here to attempt to join the ranks of the FSA.
I will say it again and again.. If your conservative, love liberty and the constitution you dont belong in the republican party.
It can’t be blamed on people who weren’t even invited into the room to run the campaign. The moderates have had two elections to prove their approach works. In fact, they have had 4 of the last six. The conservative approach worked twice, the moderates has failed 4 times. Bush, despite many areas to criticize, ran strongly on social and free market conservative ideas. He hedged on some specific issues, which is fine, and a requirement to win. Both parties have to hedge on specific issues. Overall, Bush motivated the right and pulled people in from the center. The last two cycles left people sitting home on the right, and failed to inspire the center.
Still think we don’t need a third party? Past history does not preclude doing a new thing. If we call together all the Tea Parties and hit the ground running “RIGHT NOW” recruiting people to a party that stands to save America from destruction.
They had this jack@#$ on CNN last week too. I really believe that the more this goes on, the more likely that there is going to have to be a split in the Republican Party and the RINOs should go home to the Democrat Party where they belong, so that the conservatives can go about registering the 49% who don’t regularly vote.
I can hardly support the GOP anymore. It just keeps filling up with more and more jack@#$es
In 2012, an additional probable 2.5-3.0% also stayed home.
Had those people gone to the polls, Republicans would have won the White House and control of the Senate.
They didn't stay home because Romney was not Liberal enough.
I wish the Republican party would just accept abortion already as part of their platform so we can just get on with the inevitable ‘Conservative’ third party alternative to both of these posers.
If what this turd is calling the ‘far right’ had influence, the Massachusetts Moderate would have been retired in 2008.
It is time for an ultamatum; either the powers that be in the GOP rebuke people like Guetierrez and Bobby Jindal, and all these people who have been lining up to bash conservatives since November 7th, or we secceed from the GOP.
It is time for the GOP to tell conservatives, “We Want You”. If they don’t, I think it is time to go 3rd Party. No need to worry, because a lot of the good people who are in the GOP, will join the 3rd Party as well.
Well said!
And, IMO they didn't stay home because Mitt was "too hard on Zero" during the general campaign. Mitt was hard as nails in the primaries on the conservatives and wishy-washy in the general trying to appease the "moderates".
His logic would dictate that Romney would have won because Romney was a “moderate” and not a far right candidate.
