President Obama is considering asking Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) to serve as his next defense secretary, part of an extensive rearrangement of his national security team that will include a permanent replacement for former CIA director David H. Petraeus.
Although Kerry is thought to covet the job of secretary of state, senior administration officials familiar with transition planning said that nomination will almost certainly go to Susan E. Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

The possibility of a traitor as Sec. Def. is just amazing!
wonder if Obammy can say coup any better than corpsman
What a gut kick. Of course veterans are going to be upset. This lying POS saw more combat action than most MOH winners.
Satire or news?
It’s becoming impossible to tell the difference with this administration.
I think it’s funny.
Nothing like having the Band-aid war criminal, coward for Secretary of Defense.
After all he spent 3 months in Viet nam before his fellow officers told him to leave or get it in the back.
this is a nightmare
I watched “Vietnam in HD” over the weekend. While watching the segment showing kerry testifying in front of a committee protesting the war, I thought to myself “how could such a loser become a US senator”...
Why only Democrats? Why not elect un-electable Republicans to create the illusion of bipartisanship? Is Obama finally showing his colors? Please, if this is true, it is freakin’ funny how Obama is pretty much sticking in the cabinet people who tried running for president but lost - from the left.
Please, if libs like Hillary so much, well, that’s bad. Looking at Hillary, she’s aging and seriously needs to retire, take a rest, and enjoy being Grandma, if she isn’t already a Grandmother, well, perhaps that’s coming soon...
Either way, she’s really lost that fashion sense, if you know what I mean.
Currently, I’d rather play a video game about being a soldier in Vietnam than listen to John Friggin’ Loser Kerry right now...
THAT has got to be one of the funniest things I have ever read.
What’s next, Howard Waxman posing in Playgirl?
The best way to let Obama know that John Kerry is unacceptable as a candidate of SecDef, is the simple message that “The Pentagon will be unable to insure the safety of senator Kerry”.
When Clinton was POTUS, the Pentagon advised him that at least a dozen major installations and ships could not guarantee his safety were he to visit them. He took the hint.
But Kerry is much, much worse. He is regarded as a traitor to the United States and his comrades in arms, a person who gave aid and comfort to the enemy, while falsely accusing honorable military personnel of being war criminals, in sworn testimony before congress.
In effect, he is the last unrepentant enemy soldier of the Vietnam War, and no enlisted person or officer sworn to protect and defend the constitution of the United States will be able to abide their oath and work for him.
“The Pentagon will be unable to insure the safety of senator Kerry”.
Paging John O’Neill . . .
Oh, goody! This Susan Rice??? Look for us to go FULL bore on turning our backs on Israel....
Susan Rice Israel’s enemy Osamas friend
Susan Rice was John Kerry’s chief foreign policy adviser when he ran for President. One of the major steps Kerry suggested for dealing with the Middle East was to appoint James Baker and Jimmy Carter as negotiators. When furor erupted at the prospect of two of the most ardent foes of Israel being suggested to basically ride “roughshod” over Israel, Kerry backtracked and blamed his staff for the idea. His staff was Susan Rice

However, Obamas foreign policy choices have raised a few eyebrows. It has included, in the past and present: Zbigniew Brzezinski, former National Security Advisor to Jimmy Carter and considered to be the Democrats hawkish version of Henry Kissinger; Samantha Power, Harvard Professor and Obamas former Senior Foreign Policy advisor; and former Kerry and Clinton advisor Susan Rice. All of these individuals appear to have at least one thing in common: disillusionment with Americas unhesitating financial and military support for Israel and a willingness to put real pressure on Israel to resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict. Their presence may signal an upcoming Israel policy shift under the Obama administration.
...Dr. Susan Rice, a fellow-on-leave from the Brookings Institution and Obamas current chief foreign policy advisor, was blasted in 2004 while she was an advisor to Kerry for suggesting that Jimmy Carter and James Baker be appointed as negotiators between Israel and Palestine. When critics slammed Kerry on the grounds that both men had been unfriendly to Israel (Carter has called it an “Apartheid State”), he publicly retracted the suggestion and blamed the idea on his “staff.”

She is a good friend of Osama. Stopped him from getting arrested before 9-11
The same can’t be said of Rice, however, at least according to several of her former colleagues, who say she deserves a hefty portion of blame for the fact that Osama bin Laden wasn’t neutralized during the 1990s.
“The FBI, in 1996 and 1997, had their efforts to look at terrorism data and deal with the bin Laden issue overruled every single time by the State Department, by Susan Rice and her cronies, who were hell-bent on destroying the Sudan,” one-time Clinton diplomatic troubleshooter Mansoor Ijaz told radio host Sean Hannity in 2002.
Richard Miniter, author of the book “Losing bin Laden,” concurred, saying Rice played a key role in scuttling the deal that could have prevented the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington.
In November 2003, Miniter told World Magazine that while Sudan was anxious to turn bin Laden over to the U.S., Rice - then a member of Clinton’s National Security Council - questioned Khartoum’s credibility.
“Rice [cited] the suffering of Christians [in Sudan] as one reason that she doubted the integrity of the Sudanese offers,” said Miniter. “But her analysis largely overlooked the view of U.S. Ambassador to Sudan Tim Carney, who argued for calling Khartoum’s bluff.”
He looks like such a twink in that picture.
But at least he can say to the Rooskies and the Chinese, "Do you know who I am??"
He looks like such a twink in this picture, too.
Eyes on the ball, Jon Cary!
Ambassador Rice’s only distinction was participating in a lying campaign to the American people.
