Former CIA director David H. Petraeus told the woman with whom he was having an extramarital affair to stop sending threatening e-mails to a family friend, Jill Kelley, after a federal investigation determined who was behind the harassment.
The move by Petraeus came in mid-summer after Kelley contacted a friend who worked as an FBI agent in Tampa, where she lived, beginning a process that would eventually force the former four-star former general to resign last week.
The new information, provided by two law enforcement officials, helps fill in a summer timeline when Petraeuss e-mail account became the subject of a federal investigation into whether national security had been compromised during his affair with his biographer, Paula Broadwell.

At some point, Kelley told Petraeus about the e-mails and named Broadwell as the person who had sent them. That may have prompted the CIA director to send his own e-mails to Broadwell, telling her to stop the harassment, the law enforcement officials said.
People close to Petraeus say his affair with Broadwell ended four months ago, around the time he e-mailed her about the harassment.

Ms. Kelley could easily be another affair.......but WHAT ABOUT BENGHAZI?????
Well, there’s always a chance this unbelievable media frenzy will pressure Petraeus to man up and do what is honorable.
“We need a scorecard. The version with the most check marks win.”
Or maybe a Bingo card?
Ms. Kelley needs to be looked into.....how do you get to be a “Family Friend” in a few months????
His wife is a DEMOCRAT....they ALL look like that and they ALL stand behind a mon of power...no matter what!!! She works for Obama.
IMO, I’d look into finances. Just a hunch. ;)
I don’t think you can plead the 5th before congress
This is by design. MSM will be consumed by this scandal which was timed to create a diversion from Libya.
Her twin sister is a lawyer who represents whistle blowers. Another odd coincidence?
I believe you're right about that. The Benghazi tragedy has disappeared. Even on Fox there's no new information coming out. It's all Patraeus all the time now.
Every American will know the names of Paula Broadwell and Jill Kelley. Who will know or remember the names of Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods? Chris Stevens or Sean Smith?
“What would make her want to be his lover, besides his power and status?”
In the world where Petraeus and Broadwell live, power and status is all that matters. There is no stronger aphrodisiac.
Congress needs to cut through all of this cr*p and just subpoena Petraeus and let the chips fall where they may. All this other stuff is for gossip magazines.
“Power is the greatest aphrodisiac,” said Henry Kissinger.
I just read the reviews of All In on Amazon.com. One reviewer unbelievably said:
it seemed to border on pure hero worship and seemed to be nothing but the worst kind of suck-up writing that I almost gagged as I labored through the first few pages.

Faced with employment lawsuit, Tampa lawyer Barry Cohen goes into attack mode

Earlier this summer, a former employee sued prominent Tampa lawyer Barry Cohen. Now hes fighting back with everything from a motion to dismiss the case to accusations of perjury and bankruptcy fraud.
In July, Natalie Khawam and her attorney Wil Florin sued Cohen, his law firm and other defendants on six counts, including sexual harassment and breach of contract claims. Cohen owed her money, she said, and he also failed to properly take action when she reported a sexual harassment issue involving a financial officer doing work for the law firm.

Since her filing, Cohen has delved into Khawams past: Hes uncovered court documents from a bankruptcy. He also unearthed a searing, 19-page child custody order from a Washington, D.C., superior court judge calling her out in 2011 for a lengthy history of abusing the litigation process and a willingness to say anything, even under oath, to advance her own personal interests.
In court documents, Cohen also claims that Khawam fraudulently omitted Rolex watches, sable mink furs and a diamond ring from a list of her assets in an April bankruptcy.
On top of that, Cohen has filed a motion for dismissal and requested sanctions against Khawam for a bad-faith filing.
All told, Cohens Aug. 13 motion and exhibits detailing many aspects of 37-year-old Khawams life weighs in at some 120 pages.

Cohen said the firm dealt with the issue immediately, hiring a retired FBI investigator, Bob Cromwell, to look into the allegations. Cromwell said in an interview he spent about two weeks interviewing employees, including Khawam.
Shortly after the investigation was completed, Cohen told Goldberg in a Dec. 2, 2009, letter that he was prohibited from returning or having any further contact with any female employees.
Khawam submitted her resignation that same day.
According to the complaint, Cohen brought Khawam on as an employee in May 2009 under the terms that she bring a high-profile client with her. As a result, the firm would pay Khawam a 30 percent commission on the value of case she had.
Who’s finances??
Who knows??? She might have been wearing a diaper when she was writing and sending those emails.
Paula’s husband wrote to the NYT? Could be that’s the reason the book went from some lowly ranking on Amazon’s bestseller list....#7,000 I heard, or maybe even as low as #70,000 to #111 over the weekend.
This whole thing stinks.
Of COURSE you can plead the 5th before Congress!!! They won’t even call anyone whose lawyer SAYS they are pleading the 5th!!! They dont even have to show up!
I wish people would lay off Mrs P. Women her age have far more to recommend them than some Hooter girl. I am so sick of this “culture” that obsesses over appearances and insists on viewing all women regardless of age or life experience according to a degrading and reductive sex object stereotype.
Yep. WaPo has been grinding a new story out every few hours as people figure out the lies. Shills.
