INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The investigation into an explosion on the south side of Indianapolis could take weeks, an official with Citizens Energy said on Sunday.
Two people were killed, and more than a dozen homes were damaged or destroyed after a large explosion rocked a south side neighborhood late Saturday night.
The Indianapolis Fire Department says the explosion happened in the 8400 block of Fieldfare Way, which is in a subdivision just off of Sherman Avenue south of Stop 11 Road.
Citizens Energy shut off gas to all the homes in the subdivision and investigated potential gas issues in the neighborhood. An official said the company had received no reports of an odor of gas in the area, and no gas leaks had been discovered as of early Sunday morning.

I actually read what you typed before it dawned on me what you did there.
I've been listening to German rock music for most of the day (and Marlene Dietrich, I really like bitte geh fort... that's the way I sing it anyway)... my brain is primed for that kind of stuff. ;)

If you'd been paying attention for the last decade or so... Search has never really worked on FR. We're also in a bubble universe as far as time goes. It adds to the charm. ;)

I heard this morning on local TV that the gas company went in there and they were unable to detect a gas leak. Odd
I had just went to bed and heard a boom. I asked my hubby if it was thunder and he said nope, no rain tonight. I went out didn’t see anything. We are farther norh, but I heard it.
Thanks...an hour south....My first guess was a furnace as that area is starting to get some colder weather....If it was in our neck of the woods, first guess would be meth lab.....We had more closed by LEO then any other county in the state. (Even a couple in the back of pick-ups)
I was thinking the same thing - dang, I love this website!
Never, ever ask your hubby about loud noises. He's going to automatically deny it, and then quietly sniff the air to see if it was, in fact, him, and he failed to notice. ;)
I'm still blaming the dog, and I haven't had a dog or an ex-wife for almost decade.

My hubby never breaks wind. At least that is what he tells me!
Our cats are gassy. Poor things.
Limb on a tree fell in the neighbor's yard 2 blocks away.

When I was in Korea, a jet fuel tank went off. Sudden dull pressure and low tone whump. It was hard to figure out the direction because it seemed that the whole world had changed pressure all at once. It turned out it was 3/4 mile from where I was. Don’t know how far away it was felt, but would assume it was a noticeable event for a few miles around.
“Firefighters on the scene said they had never seen a gas explosion like this with such effect. Its like a war zone.”
The debris pattern is interesting as well.
They are saying 31 homes will have to be demolished.
Where are the washing machines and refrigerators etc.
People several blocks away are saying their homes have blast damage.
I am sure the gas company is scrambling to make sure they aren’t held responsible. There is a HUGE multi millions of dollars lawsuits coming.
Maybe they can claim it was a youtube video that angered muslims.
