This is the Way “Forward” – Gov. Scott Nixes ObamaCare Healthcare Exchanges [YES!]
Shark-Tank.net ^ | 11/9/12 | Lone Shark

There’s one path “forward” for Republicans if they’re serious about reclaiming power in the future- do not capitulate to the failed ideas and destructive economic policies that President Barack Obama will assuredly quadruple down on in the wake of his re-election. It’s one thing to win an election by misleading and bribing the masses, but let me be clear, as Obama would say- in no way, shape or form did the president win a national debate on the merits of his policies- and his policies, when they are fully implemented will undoubtedly cost us jobs, raise our taxes and further strain our already cash-strapped state budget.

Governor Rick Scott is showing the way forward if Republicans want credibility as the clear alternative to the statist interventions that Democrats offer, as he’s declined to implement the state health insurance exchanges that were mandated with ObamaCare.

From the Sarasota Herald-Tribune:

Speaking on the New College of Florida campus following a meeting of the state’s university governing board, Scott said it will cost taxpayers and business owners too much to expand Medicaid and set up health insurance exchanges as called for under the law.

“No one has been able to show me that that health care exchange is going to do anything rather than raise taxes, raise the cost of our companies to do business,” Scott said, adding that expanding Medicaid would also require tax increases.

If you’re curious to check out some first class stupidity about our state’s budgetary constraints as well as some general ignorance about how the health care system should “work,” check out the comments below the article.

There are still ways to resist Obamugabe!

The mainstream Florida media HATE Rick Scott and WORSHIP B. Hussein Obama....so listen up: we consumers of the media must let the media and their sponsors know that we won't tolerate their coming assassination of Rick Scott and their sanctification of the worst President in 150 years!

Republican governors all over the nation are going to face big time pressure to obey Obama--but they also have a tool to resist by not creating these damnable exchanges!!

Let us not give up!!!

When the article says “Don’t capitulate”, the writer is talking to the GOP establishment who apprently does not give a damn if they win or lose.

Who could have reported to us abot the incompetence of the Republican election machine. On another thread a commenter said,

‘I think the real damning thing about the GOP{ GOTV is the incompetence....they had people by the thousands at malls, outside movie theaters, along strip malls, college campuses, parks, etc. not just in swing states but very targeted swing counties registering people to vote and persuading them with whatever liberal BS they ad in their GOTV manuals...on top of that they had massive databases of people in specific neighborhoods and countis that had never voted before, they didn’t just reinforce their base and try to persuade independnets, they CREATED new voters by comparing registration rolls to other databases of eligible but non-registered citizens, gettingthem on the phpone or knocking at their door...”

who was reporting on this? Who could have told us that Romney’s get-out-the-vote machine was almost non-existant? THIS was the true unreported story of the campaign, not that “America has changed” or “the demographics are different now” yada yada yada.

the lazy bastards, the lazy, cincompetent GOP establishment bastards.

So not urging the GOP to “not capitulate” is pointless, just pointless. They are going to capitulate all over the place.

The Dems had hundreds of thousands of passionate, energetic workers. We had NOTHING to compare to that and the GOP never even tried and it was not reported. I repeated, we knew nothing of this limp-wristed, incompetent campaign.

Yes. Let the same attitude prevail in the states that sued against Obamacare and were betrayed by Roberts, that prevailed in Texas when the United Nations election “observers” tried to put a move on our voting places/procedures. Attorney General Greg Abbott said, don’t step on our state laws, stay away from our polling places, or you will be subject to ARREST.

Poll: Scott Approval Rating Falls To 31%

June 9, 2012

While the 2014 gubernatorial election is still more than two years away, PPP found that the only declared Democratic candidate, Senate minority leader Nan Rich bests Scott by a 47-35 percent margin. The lead comes in spite of the fact only 14 percent knew Rich by name recognition.

The PPP poll found that Scott receives just 53 percent approval from Republicans and that 17 percent would take their chances with Rich rather than voting for Scott. The PPP poll also reported Scott was struggling with women with just 25 percent approving of him.

The issue that is defining Scott currently is his push to purge the voter rolls of what he calls “non-citizens.” Half of all Floridians surveyed disapproved of Scott’s plan to purge the voter rolls.

Scott is one of the good guys!

He unfortunately doesn’t have the sort of warm and fuzzy personality that would make him a voter magnet, but I think he’s doing extremely well in Florida (like Jeb Bush, who was an excellent and strict governor but had a much warmer personality) and whether people think he’s warm and fuzzy or not, they’ll like what he’s doing and vote for him.

Also, I saw in my local (hostile) paper today that Scott is starting a “family initiative” of some kind that I think will make it clear that he is not just a rich exec who has become governor, but cares about his state.

The teachers’ union hates him, but he has pretty much subdued them...and schools are getting more money for the right things now (academics) than in the past under the horrible and union-friendly Charlie Crist.

Gov Scott is very similar to Gov Walker.

Yes, I know...if you are in Florida, we need to rally around the idea that Obamugabe’s death law is unacceptable and cheer Rick Scott for recognizing that fact.

And we need to hold our local media ACCOUNTABLE.

Republicans have jobs they have to go to and then, sometimes, second jobs. The Democrats are shiftless bums and have nothing but time to GOTV. That’s how Obama won.

Exchanges — Yes, we “exchange” our God-given rights to personally decide what’s best for the health of ourselves and our families, with the “benevolent” dictates of faceless bureaucrats and Death Panels...

This is terrific.

The health law mandates that states set up these exchanges but doesn’t give them any money to do it. If states don’t set them up, then the law says that the feds can set up a plan. But the law didn’t set up any funding for that either.

All Boehner has to do is refuse to fund these exchanges (”sorry, the federal government is broke.”).

We may not be able to repeal O-care but we can start eviscerating it section by section.
