The American flag at the Follansbee McDonald's is flying at half-staff and upside down today. Someone at the restaurant told one of our reporters this was "the owner's decision." What are your thoughts?
Which would be fine, but McDonalds corporate really isn’t into the whole “getting involved politically and making paying customers mad” thing. If this was an owner’s decision, he won’t be for long, corporately they want to be Switzerland.
I wonder if the new term will use Nine Inch Nails’ Head Like a Hole as their theme song?
Just think if someone had done this after GW got elected...
My flag came down this morning, not sure I will be able to fly her again,,
We should take down all our American flags and replace them with the “Don’t Tread On Me” flags. Followed by your service flag.
yes and as I’ve said before there were bumper stickers that came out during the W years that apply well now:
—He is NOT my president
—I Love my country but fear my government
The upside down flag indicates great distress. That sounds appropriate to me.
Today our flag is not flying. It may not again for quite a while.
The last time that I lowered my flag for any length of time was when Clinton was re-elected. It went back up when he was gone.
I suppose I should take it down again for four years. Maybe replace it with the Gadsden flag.
Took my flag and pole down before Sandy hit last week - was going to put a brand new flag up after Romney won election - guess that’s on permanent hold - but I have and will continue to put all my stamps containing the American flag on my outgoing letters upside down - did two just this morning - join me......

I say take that flag down, put it in a coffin, and bury it. All of them.
Good for the owner, although this might hurt his business.
I have a 30’ flagpole in my front yard. I took the flag down 4 years ago and had hoped to raise her today.... I won’t be.
I guess I might as well go ahead and raise a Confederate flag. My country is dead.

Just an excuse? Supposedly the flag was taken down at 11:30 am
Not sure but I think McD’s flies the flag 24 hrs a day (with illumination at night, unless they take it down when they close for the day). I used to see signs saying “Why McDonald’s Flies the Flag 24 hours a day” but maybe that’s changed and maybe it was at certain locations only
You know - you are right. Not a single one of these 1700 Fast Food Places are McDonald’s - I was shocked!

Yse - I know that EBT cards have both Food and Cash amounts, I just didn’t know the extent of what was allowed.
Yeah, cuz that’s what people do when they’re taken hostage, they ask to be excused and then fidget with a flag.
I have flags flying from my porch. I was going to fly them upside down today too.
Awesome & courageous. If I lived nearby I would buy from them.
