This site has been a frustrating disaster for the last week. What the he'll is going on? I can't get the page to load but 1 of 4 attempts. I'm about to give up, and I've been a member since 1998.
Please tell me this will be fixed before Tuesday!!
We will not go down election night. We have someone monitoring our resources and can bump them up if start slowing down.

Frustrating? Yes, and you’ve been here twice as long as I.
Don’t give up FRiend, they’ll get it worked out.
There’s no other site like FR!
I'm in Dallas County, and this is about the twitchiest I've ever seen FR. Half the time I can't get a page to load on the first try, and even when it does work, it sometimes takes nearly a minute for the page to load.
I use the Firefox browser and get my high speed connection on a copper wire from my provider. This is the only site I'm consistently having trouble with.
I seriously wish JohnRob would reconsider allowing some of our excellent professional IT folks to help him fix this. I'm mighty afraid that FR won't be available at all, come election night.
I keep getting bad gateway messages
It takes about a half minute to get a Post Reply box up for me, the pages intermittently load slow or partially. Seems to be a lot less posters as well, especially in the early morning hours, hardly any new posts at all. Used to be busy all times of the day, so there are less people on FR, but I see a whole heck of a lot more repeat posts.
Actually I think a lot of recent posters will quit altogether posting on FR after Romney wins.
Or they will do “revenge posting”
And I am on a dialup in rural Alaska.
IMHO, and I really hate to say this, but I think we can kiss FR goodbye for Tues night. Personally, I prolly won’t even try. It totally sucks right now on a Sunday evening. Tues night will be a joke. Again, I really hate to say this but facts is facts.
Bush’s Fault.
Arizona.. and blazing fast (by FR standards :)
It has been terrible since the debates and seems to be getting worse as time goes on. I’m not a technical person, so I have no idea what is going wrong. Could we be under attack by the Left?
I contribute monthly but can’t get in to read posts during the day. I sure hope that I can get through on election night.
I had almost no problems during the debates but the last week or so has been very spotty indeed. I hope they get it fixed in time.
As much as I would love to be part of the New Order my interests that day will be several hours or more of immersive gaming with my son on our home theater with the Halo 4 game also coming out Tuesday.
I have a dial-up connection and have been having a terrible time getting in and posting or even reading.
I noticed a few weeks ago that my older computer with Windows Vista, for some reason does maybe 10 times better. I am using it now. Just about the time I thought the Vista would work always, it too has had a few problems but no where near what my Windows 7 does. I am running Firefox on all of them.
Seems slow at times but it came a long way. Jim and a bunch of us were on the Prodigy bulletin boards. 92’-93’. The Whitewater posts took 30 minutes some times to load. Someone post a picture of Vince foster gun and took me a half hour to see it.
Anyway know how you feel it takes a lot of patience some times.
I keep getting timed out and stuff, but I love this site so much I don't mind reloading most of the time.
It's definitely not my connection:
I've never seen anyone be banned from FR for complaining about connectivity issues with the site, but perhaps you should be, for leveling that spurious charge.
You also didn't ping Jim to your post, which is even worse.
having to reload just to make this comment. Is this net neutrality? Weren’t they going to make sure everyone had equal access whether it was wanted or not? On a side note, if I do a search on Yahoo lately for only conservative sights, I am informed that Yahoo doesn’t approve and enter at my own risk. I figure the new lib O donor at work?
Imagine how bad this is going to be here on Tuesday. It needs some serious upgrades around here.
I have Reconfigured the Sidebar as requested by Jim, but no help, in fact it even seems slower, especially today.
I often have to pull the thread off to Desktop, and open from there, sometimes that is quicker.
FR is going to be totally useless all day Tuesday.
