Kids say the darndest things. But sometimes they say shocking things.
On Thursday, 9-year-old Brandon did the latter when he was asked why he wanted President Barack Obama to win a second term outside a campaign rally featuring First Lady Michelle Obama in Daytona, Fla.
Because if Mitt Romney win, well be going back to the crop fields, Brandon said, referring to the days of slavery. Well be picking crops.
The father can be heard off-camera laughing. Obviously, no 9-year-old child would determine through their own reasoning that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney would send African-Americans back to the crop fields.
We need Obama to win, because Obama was our president for how many years? Three years. And we need him to win because hes a good president, the boy added.

Because if Mitt Romney win, well be going back to the crop fields, Oil fields, more likely. And pipeline construction.
So say a prayer.

Working in the fields was how I made money when I was a
kid. Cutting shatter cane, velvet leaf, pigweed, etc.
from grain sorghum and soybeans. Hard, hot work, but I
made good money doing it. Wouldn’t trade the experience
for much else.

As a contrast to the gay G Man he played in Boondock Saints. But that was comedy.

My first thoughts were about Cambodia too. Betcha our commie teachers are not even mentioning what communism did to that population after takeover. Or what Stalin did to his people, or Mao to his, etc, etc.
I was in fifth grade in 1977/78. I had Mrs. Peterson as a teacher. She's still alive BTW, lives with her cats. Anyhoo, she taught a segment on the Holocaust in WWII and she said, "there is still one happening now, in Cambodia under Pol Pot." Myself, i I ever could, I'd like to sit and audit classes and see who, what and how it is taught as to what I have when I was in the school system back in 1972 to 1985.

I begged to walk beans when I was a little girl, because the "crew" that we had was comprised of the local high school cheerleaders. I thought I was just the coolest seven year old on the planet spending the day with them...had my very own machete...people would just croak right over if they saw that now.
Then, having realized that everyone else was being paid, I went through many years of "the roof over your head" thing. Dad did start paying me when I gathered a crew of my friends; by then we were riding & spraying...much easier work...but a less even suntan!
