Dominican hookers, to be specific. This is what we’re hearing about the sex scandal involving a “powerful senator” in a headline being touted by Drudge, with a story by the Daily Caller promised late tonight.
UPDATE: Shortly after the Drudge Report headline went up, my associate Ali Akbar got a tip that the story involved Sen. Menendez of New Jersey and at least one prostitute with whom he trysted on a taxpayer-funded trip to the Dominican Republic. Within one hour, Akbar had confirmed this with other sources, and we understand that numerous reporters in D.C. have heard similar reports.
UPDATE II: Some online sources are saying underaged Dominican hookers, but Ali’s sources cannot confirm the age of the alleged partner.
UPDATE III: Menendez’s Republican challenger is Joe Kyrillos who, unless I’m mistaken, suddenly became a serious contender.

I totally agree. This is huge. His opponent is going to be blasting this like crazy. No way this guy wins reelection. It is not just sex by the way. Laws were broken. Plus this guy is on tape saying secret service agents should be fired for doing the same thing !

Also, I’m not clear about this. Was he on an official trip or did he just go on his own as a vacationer (so to speak!)?

Not sure how this will play out, or whether it will hurt him at all.
First, the media of course will cover up for Menendez, so it’s highly unlikely that this story will see the light of day outside of the DC and Drudge.
Next, I’ve seen comments to the effect that since Menendez is single, it doesn’t matter. This is NJ after all, in the post Bill Clinton area. Most people will probably just shrug it off.
The only angle that might hurt is that voters in NJ struggling to recover from Sandy will not be sympathetic to a guy who’s being flown into exclusive resorts by rich donors to cavort with foreign hookers (shouldn’t he be buying American?), even if it did happen earlier this year.
Since he didn’t pay them their full fee (as they allege), you could argue that he’s cheap, doesn’t pay a “fair” wage, etc.

so the donor was soloman melgan. how come its never a catholic preist or mormon or evangelical that the media has so much hatred for that are never the big donors that get caught in these scandals?
The story is that Bob negotiated $500.00 for sex acts and paid $100.00.

to the DNC have no rights.

Right. I don’t expect Gloria Allred to show up with the tearful hookers at a press conference either. Now if it was a R senator, she would already be signing one hour specials on MSNBC.

So this is the sacrifical lamb to divert attention from Benghazi?
He’ll just withdraw from the race over the weekend, and the NJ Supreme “court” will appoint another candidate to take his place. Who knows.... Since they just had the storm, the court may also decide that voting may be too much of a burden on the citizens, and they’ll go ahead and declare a winner of the race too.
Now I understand why Menendez was looking for FEMA(le) aid.
Although hes a complete hypocrite, and i dont agree with what he did....both parties are adults. We have more important things to deal with.
