Looters 'swipe' up the mess in chaos zones (NYC: Post-Sandy Looting Starting)

Hurricane Sandy brought out the worst yesterday in some sleazy New Yorkers, who looted stores and homes across the city.

Some posed as Con Ed workers to dupe their victims.

Police arrested more than a dozen looters in the Rockaways and Coney Island, which had been evacuated, and stood guard outside ravaged stores at the South Street Seaport.

A disaster always brings out the worst of human nature. People begin looting and stealing!

This is what happens when societal norms rapidly break down.

The shot gun remedy should have been very evident. The first load of No. 8 bird shot across the legs with a second of buck shot in case the first was not pursuasive enough.

Not so here in Japan after a natural disaster 100x that of Hurricane Sandy, just 19 months ago here: 19,000 killed, 500+ of them children, 230,000 vehicles destroyed, 45,000 building destroyed and $300Billion in damages. Hardly a loaf a bread touched, nor a box of cup ramen noodles.

In Houston after Hurricane Ike, looters were told they would be shot on sight by order of Gov. Perry. There was no looting.

True, that. Watch for this story to be covered up. CNN, BSNBC, etc. won’t be out there filming this crazyness. Not six days before election day for you know now. It might take courageous citizen reporters risking their lives to get this on tape and to the alternative media.

Get a load of this: one of the Miami TV stations is reporting that “Bloomberg and Obama AGREED that a visit to the city by BO wasn’t optimal....

Of course, the REALITY is that Bloomberg told Obama to stay away.

Don’t think they really shot (killed) all that many BUT once they armed themselves etc the ‘revelers’ found other UNARMED targets.

Sorry, at the top of this article I posted a photo of looting in one area of New York. It turns out it was copyrighted for this publication, so FR Mod rightly pulled it. Let me describe said photo anyways (which won't break the rules):

Water is about knee deep. Sidewalk is strewn with trash and debris. An NYPD cop car is parked just inside the right side of the picture. One very overweight woman of African-American heritage, is gingerly walking away with a brand new pair of white running sneakers out of the box in her hand, looking back with perhaps a slight level of trepidation toward the police cruiser, but still making off with the shoes which are now "hers". Probably no NYC cops were on site at that time of the photo.
