Boats of much size at all lying on sand would be more than a couple of feet. I’m going to chalk it up to rumor reported as fact or exaggerated reporting, given other information that sounds minimal.

Pardon me, the above datum is from a buoy about 50km west of Kailaoa (not Hilo).
The buoys definitely indicate a difference of some 64meters in water column in that 4 minute interval

No matter how horrible the video, Geraldo has to be worse.
As I understand it, Tsunami's are barely noticeable in the deep ocean and only build to destructive waves near shore.
Something is going on out west of Kona.
Maybe not, but trends like these are the types used to explain how a rogue wave developed,..after the fact.
Since a lot of people are likely to think this is a false alarm, they may want to look at those huge 4min swells and maybe sleep in the hills tonight.
Funny how the govt said there was no problem anywhere when I went to bed, after issuing an alert, then retracting it?
Did the govt goof? First there was widespread warning, then they retracted it before I went to bed. Now it’s back, after I woke up. Perhaps NOAA is for muslim outreach, or is for more affirmative action of some kind?
Wow, if Hawaii wasn’t already irrevocably in the tank for Obama, he could declare a pre-disaster and fly everyone in Hawaii to Las Vegas for a week, all expenses paid (a little walking-around money, too).

Hmmm...first Hurricane Sandy I hitting the east coast and heading towards Washington, D.C., and now a tsunami is headed towards Hawaii, alleged birthplace of Obama and the place that he plans to move if he loses the election. I hope he hasn’t already bought his future home there...
