Rush:I still go back and measure everything against 2010. ...what's happened since then?
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | October 26, 2012

Do you believe that? I know you'll take it, and I know some of you probably will believe that there has been a bunch of people on the Republican side depressed and suppressed and despondent, but I don't. I think Republican enthusiasm has been "get me to the polling place yesterday" for two years. See, I still go back and measure everything against 2010. And then I ask myself, what's happened since then? Has Obama gotten more likable? No. Has the economy gotten any better? No. Has employment improved? No. Number of people in poverty come down? No. Has median family income risen? No. Number of people on food stamps gone down? No.

There's no improvement. There's nothing. The housing market zilch, zero, nada. Kids coming out of college with degrees, job prospects, not better. Nothing has improved since 2010. What happened in 2010? Republican landslide, all the way down the ballot to dogcatcher. The Democrats lost over 600 seats, legislative seats in Congress and statehouses all the way down to city council, 600-plus. And there wasn't a Republican on the ballot, and there wasn't a Republican agenda. What there was was the Tea Party and a bunch of conservatives rising up saying, "This is not the future of the country. This is not what we're gonna put up with. We're not gonna tolerate this. This is not who we are."

Now we got a candidate. Now we've got an agenda. We've got even more in our favor than we had in 2010. So where is it written that the enthusiasm would be down in the gutter and even need to be resurrected by 23 points? I mean, I'll take it, don't misunderstand, and I understand some people's enthusiasm, you watch the media, you get all depressed.

My screen name might suggest that I am a huge Rush Limbaugh fan. I’ve been a fan for so long that I don’t even need to listen anymore. I’m a strict-constructionist conservative who has admitted defeat and who’s only hope lies in a bloody revolution that ends up reinstating the Constitution as it was intended (to limit power). Keep your powder dry.

What has happened since then?

Barack Obama has committed treason by leaving at least 3 heroes behind to die at the hands of Al Qaeda, then lied to the country for almost two months now.

And he lied to the face of one of the marines grieving fathers, and sent his jackass vice president and slithering snake secretary of defense to insult him further.

I am aware of no greater offense by a president of the united states in the entire history of this country.

Barack Obama is the scum collecting at the bottom of the barrel of US presidents.

Same boat as you. I think there’s gonna be a whole lot of disappointed people on here (and nationwide) come night of Nov. 6th…

Are you one of those that question Obama’s eligibility?

I’m inclined to agree.

I am very biased against Obama so my assumptions are probably suspect, even though I don’t think so.

To answer Rush’s question, it’s a presidential year, which means far greater turn out than a mid-term. Conservative motivation may have not diminished, but the libs will be coming out this time too. Blacks will be much more likely to turn out with Obama’s presidency at stake.

I’m still hoping for victory and think it’s within Mitt’s reach, but that’s the difference between now and 2010.

Keep in mind that there hasn't been a victory by a Democrat in any prominent election since 2008. We have a Republican-controlled House of Representatives, a Republican governor in New Jersey (a very "blue" state), a Republican in Ted Kennedy's U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts, a Republican governor in Wisconsin who then had to face a recall vote and ended up winning the recall by a wider margin than his original election, etc.

I'm not making predictions either way. But I do think an awful lot of white people have had enough of the nation's first Affirmative Action President and would vote for a bag of rocks over that jug-eared dope.

I don’t know if Obama is truly an eligible natural-born citizen—I suspect he -probably- is, at least technically. Though it’s obvious from his own bio that he didn’t really grow up here, so I don’t regard him as culturally American. Or to put it simply: He is an alien, but he’s an alien within the letter of the law.

Either way, questioning Obama’s eligibility isn’t even a relevant question in my mind since it’s obvious the system won’t allow the law to be enforced anyway. People can try to investigate and raise hell about this issue all they want and it will change absolutely nothing.

I know what you both mean. I have my doubts about the man and what he may be hiding. But I know we need to beat him on the issues.

One huge difference is Obama is running in 2012 vs 2010. Say what you want about the slime, but he and his supporters will do everything necessary to keep him in the White House for four more years.

Listen...we all need to remain optimistic...polls are looking good..and I sense momentum is on Mitt’s side. He has a positive message and he’s fighting for this. We need to watch out for the bus loads of Somalians voting....but we can do this!

There's plenty of reason for optimism.

Just looking at Ohio, which Obama won by 267,000 votes -- Ohio recently purged about 500,000 dead and duplicate voters from its registrations (all of which likely voted Democrat in 2008). Several other states have done similar purges.

Several additional states have voter ID laws now active.

Obama is polling down in every single demographic from his 2008 percentages.

Look at the voter enthusiasm on the right, and the depression on the left. It's like Sam Houston's army storming through the camp at San Jacinto screaming "Remember the Alamo".

I see it like 2010 on steroids. Obama may have stolen the 2008 election with seven or ten million fraudulent votes. They would have to fabricate 20 or 30 million votes to win this one, and that would start a war for sure.

May I point out that you have abjectly and publically failed in basic “reading comprehension” by posting your own thread, so you may want to actually start listening to Rush again.
LOL!

I am sometimes entertained by those who attempt to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory!
It's similar to liberals calling the conservative constitutionalist groups known as the Tea Party, teabaggers.
(While I am not particularly naive regarding human sexuality, I had no idea that even a small pouch of packaged tea had a deviant sexual meaning for liberals)

Why yes, I did indeed pin a tea bag on my shirt at several open public events, known for eschewing politicians of every political party, while we talked amongst ourselves about the future of ourselves and our country.

Were you the one of the nutty guys who got mad when the large crowd decided to accept our own guilt in allowing things to get to this point, and promise to start the clean up from the ground up, as individuals, each and every chance we all personally have at steering our government servants?

I think 2010 showed the return to our Constitution is entirely doable without massive revolution level bloodshed.

I have two DD214s that suggest the level of lethal violence I am willing and able to inflict, in order to defend my country from all enemies, foreign or domestic, is fairly “extreme”.
OTOH, those same documents also prove I am not a stupid loudmouthed crazy jerk with a barbaric propensity to resort to violence at the first sign of disagreement with my political or religious views.

So then all the polling showing a diminished enthusiasm for Dems across ALL demo groups and a record high enthusiasm (PEW RESEARCH) among Rep is wrong?

The swing indicated by pollsters showing Ind voters who went for obama +8 in 2008 and are now +8 to as high as +19 for Ro,mey are also wrong?

While I agree with your belief in the great enthisiasm on the side of the repo I really cannot buy into the claim made by you of “20-30 MILLION” stolen (Dem) votes in 2008.

While I am convinced there was some of this happening I don’t believe it remotely approached the level you indicated.
