IBD/TIPP Presidential Daily Tracking Poll: O47/R44 (D+7)
IBD ^ | 10/24 | IBD

Posted on 10/24/2012 11:10:17 AM PDT by tatown

Obama maintained a lead over Romney in our poll for a sixth straight day.

Though Romney actually improved his lead among male voters to 7 points from 4 a day earlier, Obama’s lead among women is now 12 points, the biggest ever.

Obama continues to beat Romney among both urban and suburban dwellers, holding 34-point and 6-point advantages with those two voting groups, respectively.

Romney has maintained his solid lead among independents, standing 9 points ahead.

But the GOP challenger remains well behind with those voters who call themselves “moderates”, with a 27-point deficit in that group.

How accurate was this poll in 2008? I was under the impression that this one was pretty accurate.

Ironically, with D+7 factored in, this is the best poll of the day. Real margin with D+2 might be in vicinity of R 49 O 45, in line with Ras and Gallup.

I find it almost impossible to believe that Romney has ANY chance of losing if he is really up by ~9 points among indies, regardless of what the top line number says.

Dick Morris looks like he’s gonna be right, statin he anticipates a 4 - 8 % margin of victory for Romney. Split the difference and you are at 6% which may end up being the difference.

Yep. Taken together the polls (national and swing state) show Romney is ahead. We simply can’t yet ascertain a trend in either direction. I’d take a 51-48 margin for Romney, as the EV would certainly follow to >269.

It’s beyond my capacity to understand why anyone would vote for 4 more years of this!

Not only is the truth shocking...the lies, coverups and complete incompetence, not to mention the dead bodies, friends betrayed and also the financial disasters - what is worse is that Obama could still win this election!!! What does he have to do that is beyond what people can stomach??? Apparently his base will accept anything - except being cut off from taxpayer money.

It’s completely stunning that this is even close.

The important number in all polls is incumbent Obama’s 47%. He is not above that number in any (so-called) “credible” poll. My biggest question in all these “poll wars” is internals. that show Bam losing ground with women & independents and still be tied in total? Doesn’t make sense... IMHO.

It’s stunning to me also.

It’s the media. the liberal media creates a false, alternate reality as in the movie the matrix. We are living in the matrix. If the media reported what was actually happening out there ( for example that Obama covered up his incompetence on Bengazi which caused 4 Americans to die etc instead the media are covering Romney’s one comment on binders of women and twisting that into a lie etc.) so If the media actually reported what was happening we wouldn’t have 99% of the problems we have and no democrats including Obama would get elected even to run a lemonade stand.

Now we have to fight and stop Obama to save freedom , then later We have to fight and stop the media also otherwise we cannot save freedom

The real number in this poll is that Obama is at 47%. All the polls agree on this - none is an outlier.

This is true regardless of whether or not they show Romney ahead or behind.

In none of them has Bamster hit 50%.

Don’t we hear, every election cycle, that “RINO X is the only one who can win over the moderates and independents”? and then we hear “40% vote our way, 40% vote their way. Elections are won by the remaining 20%”

If we’re really up 9 on those remaining 20% independents and we lose that is the end of that logic. It can’t be both ways. Either:

1)independents are required to win the elections, we win them and we win.

or

2) independents are required to win the election and we lose and that “logic” is proven wrong.

It can’t be that we win Independents by 9% and lose. Not possible.

I have read that it takes at least D+4 to give 0 the advantage.
