The president of Clemson University is chastising those who booed President Barack Obama during the colleges Military Appreciation Day at last weekend's game.
During the universitys annual event that was held this year during the Clemson vs. Virginia Tech game on Saturday, a ceremony was held to induct ROTC cadets into the military.
The ceremony was disrupted by booing from some fans in the stands.
In an email with the subject line, Dear Clemson Family: Focus on Positive Dialogue and a Civil Discourse, Clemson University president James Barker addressed the behavior at the football game.

Sheep are not supposed to boo their masters. Free people have free speech, however. This should be explained to Clemson’s president, who is obviously doesn’t get this distinction.
So you can’t free speech-it by expressing displeasure by booing.....but it’s ok for university personnel to “X” out Christian crosses in photographs?
Liberals are only gor free speech if they agree with the words spoken or in this case with their Politcal crap.
Its a Free Country...liberal, bootlicker, puke. The students know a phoney, lying, pontificating, incompetent, failure when they see/hear one.
Obama was probably booing the Hokies defense.
I went through ROTC and served during the cold war. I did not put nearly as much on the line as anyone today who goes into service - office or enlisted. Those who do deserve our respect and our support. They deserve a swearing in ceremony they can be proud of.
They did not have any control over who their Commander in Chief would be. They may not have even asked for him to be at the ceremony. But the ceremony was about them, not about him.
I wouldn’t have suggested that the students not boo because of a need for “civility,” but I would have suggested that the students not bring politics into an a-political event, and show respect and support for those who will soon be putting their lives on the line to defend Clemson’s freedom.
I doubt there is a stadium he could go to and not get booed.
Football, baseball, hockey games I would bet he would get booed. Basketball probably not.

No offense plz....
Yeah, what ever happened to, Dissent is the highest form of patriotism?
Dear Clemson Prexy:
Seek out the discerning dissidents and give ‘em a Medal of Freedom!
Then bite me.
I (state your full name), having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of Second Lieutenant, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter, so help me God.
My daughter is a Clemson alum. She was there and I bet she was booing too!
Same here, but this helped me get over it:
I’m not from your part of the country, but, looking it up on a map, I wonder why you said west. isn’t Clemson in South Carolina? Wouldn’t that make Clemson east of the Savannah River? You said west of the Savannah River.
Gee - if Zero can mock and make fun of those whom he disagrees with, why can’t citizens do the same to folks they disagree with? I guess Chrissy Matthews might be onto something - it’s “un-Constitutional” to offend the big Zero.
I applaud the students that booed Obama. James Barker can kiss my American backside.
"West of the Savannah River" is GEORGIA....
Many here often (mis-)pronounce it Clem(p)son...
"West of the Eastern Divide" is Alabama... (Roll Tide!)
Where we tease Auburn & Clem(p)son by familiar comparison...
SEC (mainly football) humor only... plz...
Hope this helps...
