I’m not from your part of the country, but, looking it up on a map, I wonder why you said west. isn’t Clemson in South Carolina? Wouldn’t that make Clemson east of the Savannah River? You said west of the Savannah River.

Clemson is indeed EAST of the Savannah River--
...where the name of the South Carolina city & school is usually spelled and pronounced correctly...

"West of the Savannah River" is GEORGIA....
Many here often (mis-)pronounce it Clem(p)son...

"West of the Eastern Divide" is Alabama... (Roll Tide!)
Where we tease Auburn & Clem(p)son by familiar comparison...
