The economy, abortion, and national security took center stage, but the moderator stole the show at Tuesday nights presidential debate at Hofstra University. While liberals were racing to announce, Obama is back, the debate resulted in a firefight that clearly highlighted the contrasts between former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and President Obama. From their leadership styles, approach to governing, and national security strategies, to their domestic, foreign, and economic policies, the contrast could not be clearer.
Regardless of the questions, President Obama found a way to steer them to the issues he wanted to discuss even if the answer was blatantly off topic. He turned a question about equal pay for women into an opportunity to promote more government funding for the abortion industry.
Five times he touted Planned Parenthood. He equated more taxpayer funding for the abortion industry as a pocketbook issue for women. In addition to defending Planned Parenthood funding in his response to a question about pay equity, President Obama promoted more taxpayer funding for the abortion industry in response to questions about what he had done to earn someones vote and how Romney was different than George W. Bush.

Candy Crowley, CNNs chief political correspondent and the first woman chosen to host a presidential debate in two decades, was given the unique opportunity to set the bar for aspiring female journalists. Instead, Crowley awkwardly went outside the boundaries, rudely interrupting the candidates when she saw fit, and conveniently making up the rules as she went along. In fact, it is estimated that she interrupted Romney 28 times while only interrupting Obama nine times.

What surprises me the most is not that Candy Crullers was in the tank and colluded with BO, it’s the fact that the Compost is writing about it!!
BO has crossed the imaginary line and even his former cheerleaders are not defending him,
I think that Michelle Obama started the applause. It is quite easy to do, if you start clapping for something in a crowd, generally there are a number of people who will spontaneously join in.Also people can be strategically placed in an audience.
He called “Candy” and she also cut off any discussion of Fast and Furious.
Is that what she was holding in her hand?
In the same speech where Obama dropped the word “terror” in the subjective context of a platitude he also used the word “eclipse”. Therefore, it should follow that Obama was covered if the Benghazi attack had been cause be a lunar eclipse, no?
Candy Crowley is a disgrace.
Yup. What infuriates me is that the Stoopid Party never saw it coming.
amen.
I haven’t a clue.
I’m hoping this latest sideswipe has smacked some sense into them.
The biggest fix I see is the Obama team giving Crowly the transcript of the first White House press conference on the Benghhazi disaster. Obama asked Crowly for the transcript. How did he know she had one? Because his team gave her one and probably other items to help Crowly bone up for the debate
This was published in the Post online religious blogs. I doubt it ever saw the light of day in the print publication.
Where does it say they coordinated answers?
This is one instance, and has now become the de facto talking point on Libya, even though it is demonstrably false, the implication being, The Big Lie (if you repeat a lie often enough, people will begin to accept it as true, factual) is now the official version of history.
I've seen this being done this morning on TV, Fox, no less, as Leftists seek to transform the original narrative into something that bears no resemblance to what actually transpired, and indeed, has no basis in reality.
We'll see how Romney handles Mr. Tough Guy Bob Scheiffer Monday night, but his attitude towards Obama should be, “take no prisoners”. Cut him no slack. Remind the Debate's viewership that his Presidential election is for nothing less than the soul of the nation.
And if this moderator attempts to interject himself into affairs on the stage that properly belong to only the participants themselves, Romney should immediately put him in his place.
It's not for nothing vast segments of American society view the Fourth Estate with a jaundiced eye.
No matter how he cuts it, the MSM is NOT going to help him at all.
I ask you, what's the downside of this avenue of attack?
CA....
Thank goodness that Romney did not say anything like “...the 3AM phone call...” since the Libya attack occurred around 9PM Libya time ... which is the middle of the afternoon in Washington,DC.
It’s pretty obvious that it was.
For me, when Romney was talking about Obama’s use of Executive Privilege to stifle the Fast and Furious investigation, and Obama CLEARLY says “Uh, Candy!” and she immediately re-directed the topic, that sealed what I had already suspected.
The GOP should be calling this fat cow out for exactly what she was - a democrat political hack that did everything except hold Obie’s weiner for him while he peed.
Still, Romney held his own. Good for him.
Expect this crap, be ready for it, and shove it back up their arses.
Was more like a 3PM call than a 3AM call by DC time!
It’s tough. If Romney unloads on Schieffer, then Schieffer gains sympathy (especially from women, key voting bloc) and Obama would come back with a canned defense. Romney would look mean, picking on a little guy and Obama would look gallant.
He might question time allocation occasionally without getting presonal, or insist on agreed-to procedure. other than that he has to maintain his cool. Romney is on a roll—he must not blow it now.

Note this was written by Jordan Sekulow, Anna Sekulow and Matthew Clark, who are associated with the ACLJ - American Center for Law and Justice - headed by Jay Sekulow, who opposes the ACLU and provides legal counsel to Christians in cases involving religious freedom. So these are guest op-ed writers, not the editorial staff of the WaPo.
The incident was the first, figurative” Lewinsky” shown on public television.
It stained more than a blue dress!
