We are not voting for Jesus, we are voting for(in my case to remove) a politician.

I don't compartmentalize my Christianity. Everything we are supposed to think, say and DO is supposed to reflect Christ and Him Crucified. EVERYTHING.

The Founders understood that.

Godly character was supposed to be the hallmark of the representatives we chose to be our standards in government.

We may not be electing a pope - but scripture is clear about the kind of personal requirements God sees as fit for office over a Godly people.

Electing someone with a record of everything antithetical to my faith and Conservative principles IS NOT reflecting Christ. It's surrendering to this evil world and it's standards and values.

If we refuse to be governed by God - then we will be ruled by the tyranny of men.

Here we are. The fruits of compartmentalizing our faith and principles for expedience as a nation and people.

I've repented of it - and will not do so again.

I have been trying to give people reasons to vote for Romney and reasons not to vote for Obama. I would love the situation to be such, that I could back this guy with my vote.

I look back at what Reagan left is in 1989, and what we are left with today.

Sadly, the Bush’s, McCain, these folks taught me all I need to know about backing Leftist Republicans.

I’m not voting for Leftists anymore. The RNC has let me know I’m not wanted. The RNC and McCain have trashed people whose values I share. I’m just not going to play along while our nation goes over the Leftist cliff any longer.

If they’re going there, it’s without my vote. I want no part/responsibility for the Leftist policies they will implement.

Hey guy, I wish I could give you more. I spent thirty years voting for Republican presidential candidates. Then I noticed that they were doing things I didn’t support, moving the nation Left. Of course, the Republican Congress actually helped them do it.

At some point you have to stop yourself and ask, am I really making things better by backing Leftist Republicans? Ask yourself if you have noticed even one four year period where we moved back toward the Reagan model. If you can name one, you’ll be doing better than I can.

At some point in time we have to move back right, and I’m putting the RNC on notice. They could have my vote in an instant, if they supported a Conservative candidate that would actually move us back to the right.

Until then...

” Electing someone with a record of everything antithetical to my faith and Conservative principles IS NOT reflecting Christ. It’s surrendering to this evil world and it’s standards and values. “

I see how you arrived at your conclusion. You see faith as black & white, but leave out fallible, innately sinful acts
done by the human species. Strict adherence to your principles(at least as you have outlined them) would seem to necessarily preclude your ability to vote for anyone.

My minister once asked our congregation the following....

If you were harboring a dozen Jewish kids in your basement, and two of Hitlers legmen knocked on your door, and asked you if you were hiding any Jews, would you tell the truth, and turn them in?

If your choice is to vote for an admittedly sinful, flawed politician, in order to remove one you believe to be tantamount to a disciple of satan, would you vote for the lesser evil to remove the satanic politician?

Your steadfastness regarding christian principles is laudable. I just don’t see how you survived in this world
completely insulating yourself from human sinfulness. Jesus spent an inordinate amount of time with sinners.

I voted for Nixon at age 18, and have always voted Republican. I wholeheartedly agree with you regarding
the Republican presidential candidates, and our RINO Republican Congress as well. Since Reagan retired, we have had a steady stream of globalist, or otherwise liberal(as in Big Government) Republicans. I haven’t had any use for any of the (R) presidential candidates since Reagan. I didn’t vote for Bush the second time, as I had concluded that he was a Republican version of Jimmy Carter. I didn’t vote for McCain, as I had concluded that he was mentally unstable, and despised the conservative movement. I knew Obama was going to win, anyway. I had hoped that the Republicans in the House & Senate would fight Obama tooth and nail. Today, I don’t even know that any of them are still alive, save for Issa and DeMint. As a whole, they have done nothing, and Obama has done huge damage to this country, as a result.
I conclude with this; the Republicans will do nothing to stop Obama from destroying the country, so the only option is to vote him out. Admittedly, this is the ugliest situation I have ever found myself in, but it is reality.
I now vote in Arizona, not California, so my vote might matter. Apparently Jim Rob came to the same tortuous conclusion : )

There’s a BIG difference in teaching a sinner to walk in the way of righteousness, and enabling them to continue sinning.

Because we’re all flawed, you somehow have arrived at the conclusion that Conservative Christians must support an opportunist politician whose POLICIES on record promoted killing babies in the womb, homosexuality and denying Constitutional rights, so that we can supposedly STOP a Marxist.

In short, your argument is a non-sequitor. This isn’t about breaking the law to hide Jews to keep them from being exterminated, this is about willfully supporting a politician whose policies on record are antithetical to my faith and principles.

Like I said - YOU may be able to compartmentalize your faith and put God in a box so you can justify compromising your principles - but I won’t. Not any more.

We are in this mess with a debased culture and a Marxist ruling us PRECISELY because Conservative Christians have been doing the same thing you advocate we do now; compromise our faith and principles to support the lesser of two evils.

We keep getting moved Left - until Conservatism itself will become extinct. As it is - the choice between a Democrat Socialist and an overt Marxist is a pretty good indication of exactly what I’m warning about.

I’m not going to contribute to that any more.

Let me say this: aside from food and clothes, I have not purchased a single new thing since Barack Hussein Obama got elected.

In my home, if something broke I fixed it. In those cases, I purchased parts myself and fixed whatever broke. That means I learned how to fix my TV, Washing Machine, Dryer, Dishwasher and Furnace (which desperately needs replacing at 25 years old.)

Anything I could NOT fix, we learned to live without. Anything I could not fix myself that we needed on a daily basis I found someone to fix cheaply.

The new "normal" for us has been making do with what we have. I don't know that I'm going to run out and spend alot of money once Obama is gone from office since my family has grown content "doing without." For example, we dumped DirecTV back in August and saved $100/mo. Dumped our home phone and saved another $50/mo. We stopped going out to eat altogether and saved another $200 or so each month.

Our vehicles have long been paid for, mortgage is paid off, and I've been banking/saving/investing a hefty sum each month for the last 4 years. I'm debt free and am going to stay that way.

Once Obama's gone I may buy myself a different vehicle (likely something 2-3 years old) to replace my 11 year old SUV. I'll pay CASH for it and that'll be about it.

I’m not falling into the trap of thinking its the best we can do.

I agree. But it is a FIRST and simple step AWAY from jumping into the precipice.

Willard is not the savior of America...

You're right... BUT, he did manage to get the endorsement of Nashville's "Tennessean" newspaper.

THE TENNESSEAN now supports Romney (that is a surprise)

And it was UNEXPECTED.

Anyone who thinks that Romney or anyone else is going save the USA from its economic collapse is delusional. First off it is too late.

A statement nearly equivalent to that was made about Romney when he stepped in to manage and salvage the Salt Lake Olympics back when.

Sullied by scandal, on the brink of financial disaster, and with federal investigators, bankers, and the press at its door, the Salt Lake Organizing Committee’s senior managers admitted the organization was paralyzed.

But Romney had too much American patriotism to let it become a catastrophe for his country. So he accepted the biggest turnaround challenge of his life.

He FIXED IT to the AMAZEMENT of MANY DOUBTERS and it was a SUCCESS.

I'm a FIRM believer in giving every dog "it's day and due".

Let's see what Romney can do with Obozo's turd pile.

All the Romney campaign had to do was convince people to vote for him. Probably not so hard considering the alternative. As far as economics are concerned- that is about math. That is an equation that given the “Fixed” variables- It will not compute. To unfix some of those variables into a workable equation would mean we instantly get very bad conditions in this country for a while. Oh we will get far worse by leaving those variables fixed. We will get an ash heap. But fixing them on purpose means that the people will instantly have someone to blame. That would be the politician, and the party that fixed them. The sheeple no longer can see what is for the greater good. They are not logical, or spiritual. They are now purely emotional, based on their own desire for instant gratification. So the same equation as always will prevail. And we will proceed to smash into a wall, and fall off a cliff.

All the dreaming in the world is not going to alter the laws of mathematics.

And that sir,is the unabashed, literal and stark truth of it all.

As the Founders noted, there wasn’t a democracy in existence that did not commit suicide.

Here we are since the idea of a Republic died a long time ago in the minds of most emoting Americans.
