Knowing What You Know Now, Would You Have Backed Romney From The Primary?

Posted on 10/16/2012 10:52:22 AM PDT by SarahPalin2012

Or would you have still backed Cain/Gingrich/Santorum/Christie/Palin (whoever your choice was from before or during the primary). I think it's an interesting question. Mitt wasn't my first choice, but am glad that he is doing so well. Would you now prefer Mitt over another who may or may not have done as well? Of course, I myself am a completely committed supporter of Mitt Romney since the primary was decided.

Ask the same question in 6 month or a year into a Romney Admin.

“NO! I won’t for that flip-flopping liberal - either back then or in November. Heck, I’m not even early voting!

Why? I can’t stand Mitt Happens. He’s no conservative. He’s a RINO with the R beside his name.”

I disagree with your assessment. I do believe that Romney is a totally unprincipled person who will wet his finger, hold his finger in the air then go with the flow. If I am correct then he could never be called a “RINO”. He would have to be called a ‘poser’.

Well now you know.

Perhaps you could explain to me how any voter could be expected to vote for someone who has NO political record for the highest office in the land. Hell Cain makes The Disaster look like the most experienced pol in the world.

We should vote for him because he ran a company which made a crappy pizza? Yeah, sure.

Actually I am not the arbiter, as much as I would like the job, but reality is, as Cain’s quick exit showed.

I still don’t like Romney but he’s got my vote.

Four more years of Baraq and we’re totally Venezuela-ized.

That crap don’t fly with me pal.

Neither do the subtle threats and insults.

They simply steel my resolve to not only remain firmly rooted in my principles, but to actively work and preach to biblical Christians of their duty to remain true to both their faith and the principles that define us.

Voting for Romney is a betrayal of those principles.

The ridicule from people like you helps me to work harder as the days are growing more evil and the betrayal and hate among those we used to assume were in the faith - grows more vicious towards those of us who refuse to compromise.

Dear arthurus,

Thanks for your vote.

Lots of love, Barack & Mitt.

Hey, DennisR, he didn't vote for Obama either. That means Mitt gets his vote with your logic.

LOL

I voted Santorum in the primary. I would do so again.

Mitt will get my vote in the general because he's not Obama and because it is a two party system.

The question is irrelevant. Romney is....

The certainty is that there is no conservative worthy of the nomination Romney received.

Were that so, it would be. The certainty involves the non-homogeneity of Conservatism. The primaries taught us that conservatives are so fragmented they can not agree on such an important matter as choosing a nominee for President.

The thread is proof. It dredges up the wistful wish that something else had happened, that Sarah hadn’t dserted her followers, that Newt had only been married once, that Santorum had a manly nature, that ...... and on and on and on.

from Judge Napalatano...

Abortion takes the life of innocent human beings who are the most vulnerable in our society.
Abortion is today the most frequently performed medical procedure in the United States.
American physicians perform about two abortions every minute of every hour of every day: about 1 million a year since 1973.
In my home state of New Jersey, abortion is permitted up to the moment of birth, and the state will even pay for it if the mother meets certain financial criteria.

How low have we sunk? What are the consequences of this mass slaughter? How did we get here?

We got here because of the most reprehensible and unconstitutional Supreme Court opinion in the modern era.

In a throwback to its infamous Dred Scott decision — in which a pre-Civil War Supreme Court declared that blacks are not persons and hence cannot claim the protections of the Constitution — the court essentially said in Roe vs. Wade the same of fetuses in the womb.

Roe vs. Wade has spawned more slaughter than all 20th-century tyrants combined.
The consequences of this slaughter are vast lost generations of human beings who were denied by the law the right to live.
The economic consequences from which we all suffer today — entitlements too costly to afford and too few wage earners to pay for them — are directly attributable to the absence of population growth.

To: Sherman Logan; All
Last I heard, his position was to allow abortion to "save the life of the mom," not "the health of the mom." Which is a huge difference. I don't personally see how any reasonable person can oppose abortion when the alternative is that the mother will die, and in many such cases the baby will also die. Sometimes very unpleasant decisions must be made. No good option. "My position has been clear throughout this campaign," Romney said. "I'm in favor of abortion being legal in the case of rape and incest, and the health and life of the mother."

With all due respect, Sherman, you don't keep up on Romney, do you?

Starting late August -- with the CBS interview Romney did -- he began running back toward the center-left with this comment:

"My position has been clear throughout this campaign," Romney said. "I'm in favor of abortion being legal in the case of rape and incest, and the HEALTH and life of the mother."
Source: Romney: My views on abortion rights are clear

Now, Mitt, you, Sherman, me, and a whole host of pro-lifers indeed make a distinction 'tween "health" of the mother and "life" of the mother. If there was no distinction, Romney, wouldn't have mentioned both. (He knows there's a huge difference!)

Not sure how you missed this, Sherman...Made FR: Romney says abortion's legal for women's HEALTH

“No. I try not to sell out my principles.”

Same here. Enough people voted for Romney that he won. He is a liberal and I don’t vote for liberals, period.

A good question. He has exceeded my expectations so far. Still cautious of what he really does, policy-wise, once in the WH.

Definitely praying he wins over 0bama.
