Tuesday's Debate: Obama Tips Hand?...Will Slam Romney on Bain?

As President Obama began to hunker down at a plush resort here for three full days of debate prep, his campaign team signaled the incumbent may steal a page from Vice President Joe Biden and show a more aggressive tone in Tuesday's second face-to-face showdown with Republican Mitt Romney.

"Gov. Romney has been making pitches all of his life and he knows how to say what people want to hear whether that was during his time at Bain or during the dozens of town halls he did during the primary," said Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Saturday. "His running mate also left him vulnerable on a number of issues -- admitting there was a $5 trillion tax cut, after he denied it, but again failing to explain how they would pay for it, leaving women worried about their ability to make choices about their own health care and failing to articulate their plan for winding down our presence in Afghanistan."

It's significant that Psaki previewed the president's next clash with Romney with an immediate mention of his time at Bain, a word Obama never mentioned during the first presidential debate, in Denver.

Actually, Bain was all about picking winners and losers - just like Obama did with the green energy firms - a brief comparison by Romney would be interesting.

The Left is of the opinion that debates aren’t important. In a way they are right. Debates aren’t important in dictatorships or monarchies. But the ancient Greeks and Romans who invented the democratic republic were big on debates.

Doesn’t Bain own the resort where Bambi is staying?

Bring it on, Obambi...

That means your illustrious career is FAIR GAME:

- Bill Ayers, Jeremhiah Wright, Communist Party, Frank Marshal Davis, Rezko, Chicago slums, kickbacks, Holder Fast & Furious.

Romney needs to tell Obutthole straight to his face that he can’t be serious if he’s attacking Romney on trivia about Bain when Obama’s dismal record of dishonesty and crony capitalism runs in the billions (Solyndra, etc.).

Romney needs to say LOUD AND CLEAR IN THE DEBATE:

“This is truly EMBARRASSING for America to have a President with your record posing as one who is the ‘ethical’ one in this race! You have a dismal record and all you have to throw at me is personal attacks. Let’s discuss how we’re going to fix America’s problems.”

Well, “Mr. President”, you said you would bankrupt the coal industry and you are close to doing that. You have killed thousands of jobs in multiple states. How does that compare to an investment company’s actions that took place 6 YEARS AFTER I LEFT THE COMPANY?

Obama has a political glass jaw. A couple of well placed political jabs by Romney and Obama will be looking for the towel biting the pillow.

There, all fixedTM.

Cheers!

Obama tips hand? Don't believe it.

Yeah, why would we believe anything he says now? Despite his faults, Romney won't fall for this baloney.

He wants to see how he pasted photographs from newspapers and magazines together on construction paper?

Yeah, and don't forget the Obaama campaign admitted that the girlfriend in one of Obaama's *two* autobiographies (both written when he was a nobody) is likewise a "collage" ...er, "composite".

Cheers!

Follow Biden 's debate tactics?

If I used Joe's debate theatrics in a "debate" with my wife, the dog would have to find a different place to sleep....for months!

Well, if anyone’s an expert on Bain, it’s Romney. We were taught in law school to never open a door unless you know where it leads. I would think Obama would step in it big time if he brings up Bain.

Agree completely. As others have said too, it would basically be a stupid move if Obama brings up Bain as Romney has a canned response plus many elaborations as needed at the ready. In fact, if Obama brings up anything about business or the economy, he's screwed.

Some friends and I were talking and basically said, "What is Obama going to talk about? He really has nothing positive to say." The ball is definitely in Romney's court. Put it this way, I wouldn't want to be Obama. .

We'll see if the MSM tries to rescue him or 'set it up.' If they overdo it, it's another point for Romney.

BTW, Part of me wants Romney to Blitzkrieg Obama, be in his face and say, "Listen punk, have you ever started a business, ever done payroll, had to hire and fire anyone, had to deal with the bottom line, deal with your damn taxes and regulations, worry about the EPA and your other damn agencies? You know nothing about business, so STFU! I know business inside and out and I'm going to get America working again, so start packing."

This debate is all about energizing his base.

Obama will bring up Bain and 47% otherwise he loses his base! He has no choice but to bring this up. He would rather not, but because he didn't do this the 1st go around the base threw him under the bus and warned him to do it or else.

The left forgets who they are dealing with and if they think Romney is coming in without a strategy, they're idiots. Romney knows better and is not Juan McCain.

>>For starters, he should ask why we need to focus on Romney from a decade ago, but ignore Obama from a month ago.

Zing!

I don’t know if it would be good debate strategy to explain this or not, but the truth (how scary!) is that he never said he didn’t care about these people.

What he said was his “job is not to worry about those people.” If you look at the context, it is clear the meaning is that he can’t worry about trying to get their vote, because there is nothing he can do to get it. So he will expend no effort or money on trying to do so.

If I say “my job is not to worry about my mother” that doesn’t mean that I don’t care about her.

Romney was talking campaign strategy, i.e., how to get votes. He was not talking about his personal feelings.

“I predict that, besides Bain, Romney’s wealth will be on trial. I hope that Romney has data about the Kennedys, Roosevelts, Kerrys in his head for a good comeback. I’ll never understand why it’s a sin for Romney to have earned his wealth, but perfectly OK for the Kennedys to have gained it illegally. But... do the dems ever make sense?”

You are spot on. Remember the “Kennedy Compound.”
