This scenario is very believable for many reasons. Just two that come to mind are:
1) that leftists would manipulate, connive, lie and distort for the purpose of political gain
2) that the only thing these leftists are ultimately capable of, when they try to manipulate circumstances involving elements of military intelligence, is to completely screw up their own plan

A much simpler explanation is that Libya (Obama War) was suppose to show case his great expertise in foreign affairs. Consequently Obama seeking not to offend the Libyans did not want a large security foot print at our installations in Libya. Libya was suppose to be a great success for Obama not another problem for the USA in a very problem prone part of the world. As we now know it all blew up in Obamas' face. And he is desperately looking for something or someone to blame. My take fixes the facts and is much simpler to understand. :)
Now I absolutely understand how and why he Bengazi assault was led by a radical who was released from Gitmo —clearly this plan wasn’t hatched and executed on-the-fly; that nut was released for a very specific reason and his REAL boss was and possibly even IS NOW Vallerie Jarrett.
