A tracking poll published Thursday by TIPP for Investors' Business Daily shows the hard-to-believe statistic of 44% support for Mitt Romney among likely Jewish voters, versus 40% for Obama, with 16% undecided.
The statistic is qualified with the comment that it is based on a small sample and should therefore be viewed with caution.
The poll was conducted among 812 likely voters, with an 8% advantage for registered Democrats over Republicans.
If the numbers are in any way close to representing reality, they reflect an unprecedented shift in Jewish voting preferences. Jews have voted overwhelmingly for Democratic presidential candidates for decades. Obama enjoyed 78% of the Jewish vote in the 2008 election.
Jewish support for Obama has been slipping recently. In September, the TIPP poll gave him 59% versus 35% for Romney. That in itself was seen as quite an accomplishment for Romney. It was not far from the 40 percent number in support of Dwight Eisenhower recorded by Jews in 1956, which was the highest backing by Jews for a Republican in nearly a century.

It could be true, yes. It should be true. But I’ll believe it when I sees it. (Any Christian or Jew who votes for bho now — after everything he’s said and done to oppose and/or undermine Judeo-Christian values these last 4 years— is blind or nuts, or suicidal. But many are...) Alas.
Thanks for that enouraging word
!
“I would urge everyone to check out the Catholic Vote and ask why theyre voting RAT.”
It’s a great scandal. That said, the Catholic vote seems to vary by area and state, the biggest split I could find was New Mexico vs La, where Obama won 70% of the Catholic vote in NM and in La McLame won 70% of the Catholic vote. Obama lost the Catholic vote in Pa, Ohio, CT, NJ, and Mn, but he won it handily in huge states like NY and Ca.
I would love to see a breakdown of rural living Jews vs those that live in urban areas. I mean, it seems to me it might be factor of where most Jews tend to live as opposed to anything soley cultural or religious. Folks that live in rural areas generally tend to vote more pub, likewise folks that live in urban areas tend to vote more lib to my understanding. Is there any population that live in urban areas with the same high % as Jews who vote differently? Just a thought, could be completely wrong.

You will find Orthodox Jews voting GOP. Reformed = Liberal wackos.
Oh, absolutely. That holds true for almost every faith group to my understanding. It still would be interesting to see exit polling from only Jews living in rural areas.

And who did the jewish voters in New York replace Anthony Weiner with?
Jewish type names are easily recognizable. Not that they are all Jewish or support the Demorat ticket but most can feel assured that the name does reflect being Jewish.
“Jewish type names are easily recognizable”
Like my Hasidic Rabbi? Rabbi Smith?*
Or my business partner (who is Jewish) Mr. Rivera?
Or my drill instructor in Israel? Sgt. Potter?
* Smith/Schmidt/etc being slightly more common amongst Jewish people than the population as a whole. Bet you didn’t know that.
You are incorrect. Among the most popular Jewish surnames are Miller, Green and Snyder.
Think patriot George M. Cohan (birth name) was Jewish? You’d be wrong. He was Irish Catholic.
I just CAN’T BELIEVE that the Jewish Voters are finally waking up after four years of the Muslim Terrorist trying to wipe them off the face of the Earth!
they ask religion: catholic, baptist, methodist, jewish, etc.
I saw a post-poll one where a third of blacks trusted Romney more on the economy. Probable outlier, but still...
Even your prediction would be a welcome surprise. It would be the best R result in a century among the Jewish population.
Thanks for the post. I, too, have always believed Romney would ultimately become President.
On a TBN broadcast in late 2007, Prophet Kim Clement said the Lord showed him this - without mentioning Romney by name, of course. To paraphrase: “He may believe some things that we don’t, but the Lord said when he (Romney) gets in there, I’m going to fill him with my spirit, and he’s going to do great things for America.”
Ummmm...couldn't an American born Jew ALSO be an Orthodox Jew?
If the Jews have to choose between a Mormon and Moslem, they’ll take the Muslim.
Romney doesn’t need the majority of them, but anything north of 25-30% is potentially fatal for the Moslem.
Lib Jews will deny that he’s a Muslim, will call you a racist for saying that he is, and vote for him in a huff. If they really believed he was a Muslim, they’d short circuit and start singing Bicycle Built For Two. So they live in denial, and carry out a mad death wish rather than admit that they are destroying themselves and all that they hold dear.
