Talk about putting a thumb on the scale...
Weekly Standard:
*****
Since about the beginning of President Obama's tenure, the Gallup poll has generally been one of the least positive polls for the Democratic party. This has prompted outrage and pressure from the left--even from presidential advisor David Axelrod.
Over the summer Mark Blumenthal of Huffington Post wrote a critique of Gallup's daily presidential job approval poll. The point of which was that Gallup was over-sampling whites and thus understating President Obama's position in the adult population. I responded by arguing that Blumenthal's case was underdeveloped and less-than-met-the-eye, and that was basically where things stood. Until, that is, this week. President Obama enjoyed a bounce in his Gallup job approval number after the Democratic National Convention, as was to be expected, but there was a twist: it did not disappear. And while Gallup on average had found Obama's job approval around 47 percent with adults through most of 2012, for the last five weeks it has been regularly above 50 percent.
Yesterday, it stood at 53 percent, a number we have not really seen since 2009.
Unusual. So, what's going on? Alan Abramowitz of Huffington Post and The Democratic Strategist noticed that Gallup has increased its share of nonwhites from 27 percent the week of the convention to 32 percent last week, a nearly 20 percent boost. In other words, Gallup seemed to have tweaked its methodology with just weeks to go until Election Day to reflect the criticism that has come from the left.

This is about as bad as it gets, polling wise, although Gallup can claim that there is a great debate among psephologists and pollsters just how much sampling should be done via cell phone and how much via land lines

call more numbers in the north east and west coast.
What a crock, the media, these unemployment numbers are.
Call Numbers to be supplied from the US Government’s ObamaPhone Recipient’s List.
Any polling outfit that alters its methodology because of political whining immediately loses its validity.
Figures don’t lie, but liars figure........
58% said "Keep Obama in president!"
42% responded "Romney, he suck!"
lol. Thx for starting off my day well!
"Call Numbers to be supplied from the US Governments ObamaPhone Recipients List."
Wouldn't surprise me at all.
Wasn’t Gallup in some sort of trouble with the Justice Department?
Gallup may not survive this election.
I am constantly surprised at the transparent nature of these ploys Obama’s Regime uses to try and nudge the contest in his favor. Each time more obvious, more blatant. From ridiculous countersuits on myriad Voter ID laws, to having the US Government advertise how to get food stamps (SNAP), to sh!t like this.
If this tyrant wins, all pretense of what he is up to will vanish. We’ll be in the real sh!t, as it were. It isn’t a contest of ideals or ideology; it is really an outright war for existence that just hasn’t been fought yet.
In any case, this standstill will come to a head November 6. We either rejoice in his ouster from power, or we start the real test anew.
should be When liars figure
the figures Lie.
By not standing their ground, Gallup and the rest of the rotten pollsters have lost the respect from the American folk and the truthfulness from their polls once held. They should think about their establishment in the long run(or I guess like OJoker said,”YOU DIDN’T BUILD THAT”)...Obumbler and his evil hordes are there only for a short time! The pollsters are COOKED, they’re done! I don’t believe any poll...zippo, nada, zilch....they’re done! This is one American who will NEVER trust these corrupted polling companies, they’re starting to resemble the liberal mediaWHORES...NEVER EVER!!!
I truly believe that should Nov 6 go against the constitution and for 0', the test we face is analogous to what individual-freedom-loving Russians, Georgians, East-Europeans and others faced trying to get to the light of day between 1922 and 1991.
If we cannot win the presidency during a period of a tea-party wave election this fall, we face a LONG winter and then some...
If they call my cellphone I will unload on them.
GET The #%^{ OFF MY PHONE
O.M.G.!!!!
That is well done and hilarious.
Convict the grifters with their own words.
Thanks for the link.
Well, you can check capitalism (at least overtly) off the docket. We’ll revert to what the Czechs and Russians called “They pretend to pay me, and I pretend to work.” attitude.
Their tax collections will increase a lot - for a while. Then entrepreneurial Americans will just “check out” and deal with it their own way. It won’t be to make MORE money to pay to the government.
This is when the leeches, the entitlement mongers, and the liberal media find out just who their master really is.
This is all Baghdad Bob stuff. Pollsters like Gallup, who seem to care less and less about their credibility, can do and say what they wish, but it doesn’t change the facts on the ground.
