Watch this......you know the moment a campaign falls into ridicule of itself and you can't take them seriously ever again. Journo's falling over laughing this morning, calling it the "jump the shark moment"
Why I am not running for Prez:
My response would be:
“I have no intention of killing Big Bird.....I’ll leave that to Dick Cheney.....”
Crowd boos....”It’s a joke”.....”A joke, get it?”
Crowd disipates....”Hey where did everyone go?”
Getting desperate, aren’t they?
Are you kidding? It said in THREE separate places it is official.
Obama Campaign Strategy: Blame Bush and call Romney a liar, thief, felon, tax-cheat, etc.
They’re just realizing NOW that he jumped the shark? Sheesh. How many sharks does this man have to jump? He’s been like a hyperactive kid on a pogo stick in shark-infested waters.
well I suppose now he certainly has that Pre-K vote sewn up.....
Love it!
Romney at the next debate—”You want to talk about Big-Bird, and I want to talk about jobs and the middle east.”
Did you even watch it??? “I am Barack Obama and I approved this message”!!!!!!
They are the very first words of the ad. Jeez, some people just come here to show their ignorance.
Sesame Street has been on the air since 1969 and there are more than 4300 episodes (according to wiki).
The alphabet and numbers under 10 must have been covered many times. Why would new episodes be necessary (except to cover “social issues”), and is it really worth borrowing money from China for that?
MyFox 13 out of Tampa just ran this ad as a news segment and the anchor/reader/reporter had a WTF look on his face.
It looks pretty real. So hard to believe it is!
I think they were attempting to mock Romney and portray him as attacking PBS instead of focusing on important issues. (Again with the projection. From the man who has time for The View, but not Netanyahu.)
It starts out with “I’m Barack 0bama and I approved this message.”
It has the scary ominous voiceover designed to make the viewer worry. That’s the part that makes it so hilarious to me.
“The worst thing for a Narcissist Punk is humiliation.”
It’s an Alinsky thing. The only thing that can take a lefty down is humiliation. They cannot handle it. That is why projecting is a key trait in lefties.
I would keep humiliating Obama. For the next debate, Romney should hit Obama on spending more time in the club house than the white house.
Yes he is and I’m worried he is going to start a war if he gets trounced in the next debate to blow off some steam.
Big Bird, part of the 1%...
No doubt the royalties/revenue from the Sesame Street clothes and toys plus the stimulus money will keep them on air a long time...sadly to spew more socialism.
Big Bird: 43 years old. Hangs in street with kids all day. is on Public Dole.
Spongebob Squarepants: 16 years old. Works at Krusty Krab. owns own home.
Born out of ignorance - Big Bird is in no danger no matter whether or not taxpayers continue to subsidize it - the President of the company which produces Sesame Street has herself stated this. It’s yet another false narrative.
PBS is also itself a private organization - it is not government owned or controlled - it just accepts grants from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. PBS could sell itself off and disappear at anytime regardless of the Federal grants. Likewise, it could continue to operate as a nonprofit organization without them just as it does now - it would just have to diversify its fundraising / revenue sources. John Stewart and his fellow supposedly outraged celebrities could pony up their own cash and hold fundraisers to more than make up for this and create an endowment for PBS and / or the CPB.
This is a ridiculous argument. Nothing coming from the left is factual as usual to create a false narrative and perception as to what PBS is and is not.
If this is an official Obama ad, it is not only dumb, but also raises a question about Big Bird being the product of government subsidies at PBS. Big Bird has been on the government dole for decades, yet his creators have grown rich marketing his products. Big Bird is as much a crony capitalist as the the CEO of Solyndra.
Am I off here, or was everyone one of those financial criminals prosecuted under George W. Bush?
