REUTERS: “A survey of households from which the jobless rate is derived showed 873,000 job gains last month, the most since June 1983.”

But still Obama lost the election, when you lose the first debate, you lose the election.

Drive enough people out of the work force entirely, and the percentage of people looking for work drops. Go figure.
Another thread theorizes that the systematic devaluation of the dollar is designed to devalue jobs: getting around minimum wage laws by making those minimum wages numerically stable but worth less on the world market.

Did they count the chronically unemployed, those who have given up working, those who can no longer collect unemployment, those who said, the heck with it and are now collecting disability?
I didn't think so.
Once again, pure horse manure.

About two weeks or so ago there were news stories about how the Department of Labor "found" over a half million jobs by correcting their survey methods (or something like that). I know it was discussed on FR, but I can't find the stories. It looks like they counted them all this month so that even if only slightly over 100,000 new jobs were created all those jobs hiding under the couch get counted just in time for the election.
Does anyone know where to find those stories? I tried, but I couldn't find them.

these numbers get media spin, but other than the serious Obamabot, is anyone really going to believe this and change their vote?? Prices keep getting higher; we all know people who don’t have jobs. I don’t know anyone who has extra money that they can throw around on “fun” things. I certainly don’t spend money on anything if I don’t have to. Interest rates are crummy...the list goes on and on. Who will believe this crap?

I knew it too.
When Meet the Press did their 'charts' a few weeks back I knew the fix was in - and commented on it. Meet the Press does NOT have charts that trash dems... and this one did. That meant the 'payoff' was coming right before the election - when the chart could show the great improvement. I assumed the numbers would be fixed before the election and commented on it in several posts... Nice to be right.
Santelli's a smart guy - he's got their number. But on this one, lots of us had dems and their boys in the MSM figured out...
We know they cheat, we know they lie... the rest is easy to figure out.

Is THIS why O's administration
BEGGED the defense contractors to WAIT
on the HUGE number of jobs to be cut
with the Jan13 cuts that go into place
so as NOT to bring this number
into more "correct" territory???

GDP this year is running at 1.3%. 1.3% can not produce 1 million jobs per month. 1.3% growth is consistent with job trends of about 120,000 per month which is what was reported. The unemployment rate lie is big lie but I don’t think it will convince any undecideds.

It's pathetic how these bureacrats fold so easily, just to hold onto their phony-baloney jobs.
How much does a soul cost? Not very much, I guess.
