And so begins our annual 7th TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot.
Thank you humble gunner for the graphic.
TexasCowboy (aka COB1) was a true Texas gentleman, great friend, patriot, and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. It is truly an honor to continue a tradition he started many years ago, hosting shoots for FRiends around the great state of Texas.
Many FReepers are coming into town on Thursday so that they can have a tourist day on Friday. Those lucky people are going to be made (a good) miserable Thursday evening by enjoying TheMoms Kick Ass Enchiladas.
The only set tourist place is The Lady Lex.
Friday evening we will meet at Captain Bennys, 103 Fulton Beach Road Fulton, TX 78382, at 8:00 p.m., for a delicious seafood dinner. (They do not take credit cards or serve liquor ~ so remember to bring your cash & booze.)
Saturday morning we meet for breakfast at Alice Fayes, 910 North Fulton Beach Road, Fulton, TX 78358, at 8:00 a.m. The shoot is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at, Schwenkes Gun & Pistol Range, 4407 FM 1069 Aransas Pass, TX, 78336. Mr. Schwenke has reserved the 25 yard shooting station for our group to use as home base. The only major rule at this range is do not shoot the livestock. A BBQ lunch will be served at 12:30ish.
Once the shooting is done some of us will be going to the Rockport Seafair, while others will go back to the Pelican Bay cottages for some R&R. Saturday evening will be filled with yummy junk food and margaritas!
According to the forecast, it looks as the weather will be perfect. Lows in the mid-sixtys, highs in the mid-eightys.
Thanks for the ping/pics. Thanks to all posters/linkers. WOW!

R.I.P. Texas Cowboy
Taking a moment to be real, here: This has been a truly special time for me:. Alla yall have gone above and beyond to make this time together, amazing in all regards. Those of us that were already friends, our friendships have deepened and strengthened; and those of us who just met have become fast friends already. The genuine love that was shown to one and all was moving and poignant. The fun was a delightful celebration of all that it is to be truly alive and free. I will treasure this experience for my entire life.
On a personal level. BuckeyeTexan and onyx, i could not have asked for more wonderful and sweetnatured, considerate cabin mates. Eaks, Buckeye, thanks for allowing me to shoot your sweet pieces, and Bacon Man, thanks for making me go wahhhhh!. Themom, penelopesire, and anyone i missed, thanks for keeping us well fed with amazing cuisine! Buckeye Texan, thanks for making it possible, and TheOldLady, thanks for your help in making the travel arrangements, and the candles. NYTexan; thanks for your hospitality in opening your home. Humblegunner, thanks for having my back when we nearly had to beat the restaurant owner to a bleeding pile of fly covered flesh and broken bones. JimRob, thanks for bringing us all together in the first place. And of course, to all of the Freeper Foxes, thanks for letting me hit it with you. I will never stop smiling now. ;)
Truly, i have been blessed to know you before; now, i am honored and humbled to call you friends.
Stay safe, and may we be guided together next year every last one of us.
I have lots of family history in Rockport. My grandmother was born and raised there and my parents retired there. I haven't been back since ‘84 when they died. The pictures are making me feel homesick. Send more! :D

I thought you couldn’t make it.
I didn’t see you there.
Good thing I didn’t make it. I wouldn’t have thought you were a great guy. Luckily, we never got to meet.
Definitely can’t make it next year.
Whatever you do, don’t shoot me your phone number by freepmail. I’ll skip sending mine back, too.
Yum...grilled gnome, jackalope and flamingo!
Yep, served out of a truck bed.
It was a joy and a pleasure to meet you and get “hit” by Th’ Laz!
On to Dallas/Ft Worth...and next year! WOOOOHOOOO!
Was that this weekend?
I don’t think so.
Wish you could have made it.... would have been great to meet after all these years....
Another ridiculously fun shoot!
I am so glad y’all got to meet me.
I wish Laz had made it; maybe next year.
BTW, Jim asked me to hold his laptop for a minute and I accidentally zotted about thirty people............ you know who you are!
;<)
LOL!
(hey, why can't I post all of a sudden?......hello?)
Were you there too?
The Henry Repeating rifle was as great to shoot as I thought it would be.
Next year we are thinking Fort Worth so I hope you can make it!
