First I know a lot of people don't like these updates. I apologize. I feel the more knowledge the better and better strategies for everyone. If I should stop posting on these issues, please let me know - I want to follow whatever guidelines/protocols that I may be unaware of. With that said:
IA (ballot requestst): Dems-150,230 (54.8%); Repubs-64,790 (23.6); That is an 85,500 difference today and yesterday it was a 93,000 difference. We are catching up fairly quickly here. Dems percentage has decreased from over 60% in the past two days and republican percentage has increased quickly over the past two days. 2008 (IA-50% early voters were dems; 28% were repubs). 2010 (IA-44% early voters were dems; 38% were repubs).
NC: 108,000 ballot requests (repubs are 53.0% and dems 26.3%); no real changes
OH: Everyone knows what's going on here. Just check the stats.

Please continue to post your updates.
Some people on FR are adults, and can handle bad news as well as the good.
I for one am confident we will win and “We The People” will overthrow the muslim dictator in the end...one way or another.

Great to see the updates - especially when they are going in the RIGHT direction. :-)
Would be good if you just put in a link to the OH spread sheet with your updates as well. Not always at hand, and some people may not (still) be aware of it.
Cheers,
SB

Interesting tidbit from Dayton, OH (Montgomery Co): We got killed by early voting here in 08. Yesterday, both here and in Cincinnati, the news was all atwitter about "early voting." Some people in Cincy CAMPED OUT to be first in to vote in a big publicity stunt---with the drive bys obediently covered.
But the real story? In Dayton, there were a grand total of . . . . 25 (!!!) early voters.
If they don't do much, much better than that in early voting, I'm going to have to revise my 4% Romney win prediction of OH to about 10.

I read there were 9,500 fewer people who early voted or requested a ballot yesterday in Franklin County vs. the same time/day in 2008.

Ok, we've been following these numbers for three weeks. In a nutshell, ACROSS THE BOARD, in every county (red or blue) we have seen a sharp increase in absentee ballot requests from Rs and a significant decrease from Ds. Cuyahoga (Cleveland), the big Dem Kahuha county, is down 6%, which would translate in a general election to a decrease of 60,000-70,000 votes. Franklin (Columbus) went for Obama by 21 points. The Dems are TRAILING there by 6,000 absentee requests. (That's a 'swing' of about 25 points).
The cutoff for absentee requests is soon (have to find out when) but the Rs are pretty close to already winning this part of the battle, convincingly.

Start a Ping list and put me on it. I use this resource daily when arguing with partisan D’s.

I thought the absentee ballots could be requested up until the Saturday before an election..... and filled out and, received by mail or in person, by 7:30 pm the day of the election.
Is there a different schedule?
