(CNSNews.com) - Gen. John Allen, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, says he's "mad as hell" about the increasing number of insider attacks, in which Afghan soldiers and police murder the Americans who are trying to train them.
"You know, we're willing to sacrifice a lot for this campaign. But we're not willing to be murdered for it," Gen. Allen told CBS' "60 Minutes" in a segment that aired on Sunday.
Gen. Allen told CBS Correspondent Lara Logan that the insider attacks will continue: "The enemy recognizes this is a vulnerability. You know, in Iraq, the signature weapon system that we hadn't seen before was the IED. We had to adjust to that. Here, I think the signature attack that we're beginning to see the -- is going to be the insider attack."
Allen also said "the vast majority of Afghans are "with us in this." He noted that a number of Afghans have been killed trying to save NATO forces from rogue Afghans.
A Taliban commander -- described as a specialist in suicide bombings who was trained by al Qaeda -- also spoke to "60 Minutes," telling Lara Logan that the Taliban is behind the insider attacks:
"These are Taliban attacks," the unnamed man said. "This is part of our new military strategy. We have our people in the Afghan police and the army. And the orders come from the top."
The Taliban representative told CBS that al Qaeda fights are flowing into Afghanistan, helping to make the Taliban more effective in killing NATO troops:
"We can't do this without them (al Qaeda)," he said. "They are masters of everything. For example, making IEDs, something we don't know how to do. But they are teaching us. They are also master engineers and good

“Allen also said “the vast majority of Afghans are “with us in this.”
Dream on. They’re MUSLIMS. They HATE us. Their religion tells them to.
WAKE UP!

So he knows insider attacks are happening, he isn't going to do anything about it, and he knows they are going to continue. Frankly, it sounds like he is willing to let the troops get murdered.
CBS version of “FAIR & BALANCED”.
Interview US Commander AND Taliban
Time to leave this hell-hole. Any major problems in the future, we bomb the #@$% out of them!
Hear! Hear! Right there in the dam* quran.
These “incidents” would probably stop if senior American commanders went on patrol with the young soldiers they are ordering to patrol with the Afghans. Why? We would then soon pull out of that mud hole.
It is unconscionable that people are being murdered over there because the rules of engagement deliberately put our troops at a disadvantage. The same with the Embassy in Benghazi, the Marines and protecting force was NOT allowed to carry live ammo. What??
Why do we do this? Why do we allow our great American kids to be sitting ducks? Would any father send his 9 year old son across a busy highway? Of course not. Then why are we deliberately sending these kids into harms way unprotected?
Now that the American troops are slowly being withdrawn, the muzzies are uneasily sticking around but at the same time are looking toward hooking up with the rebels for their next steady pay check.
They may qualify for a larger rebel pay check if they off a few G I's before withdrawal is complete.
Leni
They hijacked the now defunct Democratic Party in the 1970s. Abe will explain from "the other side."
You initiated a policy to tolerate the Marxist-Alinsky radicals and let them rant; not only has it not ceased but was constantly augmented by decades of infiltration and indoctrination. You now have two Americas. In my opinion, it will not cease until a crisis shall have been reached and passed. "A house divided against itself cannot stand." I believe this government cannot endure, permanently, half statist and half free; I do not expect the house to fall; but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.
That crisis is fast approaching. The military will have to choose sides.

It seems to me that he has had his ROE given to him and there is nothing he can do to protect the troops.if I were in his shoes I would Resign.
I, too am tired of this “vast majority like us”, “it’s only the radicals we’re worried about” BS. Read the koran! Talk to muzzies that have converted to Christianity. They’ll tell you the truth.
Frankly I cannot imagine the level of patriotism required to be able to agree to serve and risk life & limb under the bottom feeders running this country.
Cancer cells in humans are human cells, but they are not on the same program as the rest of the host body. Individual cells may look innocent: at any given moment they may not all be invading and destroying vital organs, and yet they are all programmed to do so. The natural history of the disease is plain. Without treatment, the host will die a horrible death. Effective treatments are radical: surgery, radiation, chemotherapy. There is no other way.
Identify the family members of each murderer, and remove them from Afghanistan...dead or alive.
Send 'em back when we leave Afghanistan in two years.
Gen. Allen ought to hold a press conference to announce his resignation because of these circumstances.
The general has failed those under his command. If he won't take the gloves off and take it to the enemy (where ever they may be), who will?
“Were Willing to Fight But Not Willing to Be Murdered’”
therefore? what?......
I will add, because I remember the news items, what happened to the rebels in Hungary after we encouraged them and then stood by watching as the Soviet tanks rolled, the betrayal of the promise to supply South Viet Nam if the Communists violated the peace agreement, the people murdered by Saddam after the Gulf War ended -- I do not want to even think about the myriad forms of torture the Taliban and various Islamists have waiting for the ones who cooperate with the foreigners.
Starting with the one in the White House.
Just interview Obama then. He’s both.
