America is on the verge of fragmentation and civil conflict because its citizens have lost control of their government and lost faith in its political institutions.
Nineteenth century political satirist Ambrose Bierce once described Washington D.C. as a strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles and the conduct of public affairs for private advantage.
Indeed. Not much has changed one hundred years on.
The August 27, 2012 Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just eight percent (8%) of likely voters think that the US Congress is doing a good job.
Most Americans agree that the Democrat and Republican establishments are infested by individuals whose allegiance is not to their country, but to themselves and their political party. Their aim is to be unconstrained by the Constitution and the rule of law and unaccountable to the American people. Their conduct is driven by political expediency and winning elections for the sole purpose of obtaining power and profit.
The US has elections, but it no longer has representative government. The US has a free press, but one that is partisan and dishonest.

E. Pluribus Unum... in today's progressive America, a dead concept written in a dead language by dead white guys.
(The valleys in between are all Galt's Gulches. Go Galt if Obama wins!)
Sure. Stick with the things that unite us.
NO...
But an Obama LOSS just might.
So to avoid a bloody civil war we should vote for 0bama?????
An 0bama win will trigger a deeper recession with more debt monetization and currency collapse. When the 47% realize that food and fuel inflation have significantly outstripped their entitlement payments, the civil strife will begin. During the Weimar Republic in the early 30s, the hyperinflation was so bad that people spent 90% of income on food. I think that the key number to look at is the percentage that people must spend on essential items such as food and fuel. This critical percentage to trigger civil strife will be lower today than in the 1930s when many people were generally God fearing, still lived on farms, knew how to fix things and relied much less on technology.
oh I certainly hope so. But I want Romney to win.
Your analysis is very reasoned and well thought out! I will be moving my family well away from a liberal hell hole in the next year (family ties have held me back to date, but half of near relatives have fled). Better to wait out the collapse well away from cities when they melt down. Go Galt!
I think that's a brilliant thought.
Why not do it in October?
If even conservative who is "prepared" went off the grid in every way for 1-2 weeks, the sooner the more effective, it'd send a huge wave of panic through the obama regime and through the economy.
Sadly, it'd likely be a tipping point for the economy as well.
OTOH, worth it to get rid of the chair.
An Obama loss will certainly bring a violent reaction. I think if Obama losses we will see many a ‘Blue’ City go up in flames. How long and how bad? I don’t know, but our enemies will be sure to be ready to take advantage of the chaos.
One reason I urge preppers to be as ready as possible by the end of October and if possible you might just happen to schedule a preparedness drill for yourself for the first week in November.
“A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.” NIV Proverbs 22:3
If 0bama loses there will be rioting in the major inner cities that will be put down hard. Romney’s election only buys us time. The combination of moochers, looters and entitlement slugs outnumbering the producers and taxpayers plus the inevitable economic collapse will plunge this nation into violent chaos. In order to prevent it, Romney would have to implement extreme politically suicidal policies, but he does not have the cojones to do it. This country is too divided. Our only hope is secession. We need to form a new country from the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
...and unless he's had a recent change of address, he keeps calling for an American revolution while living outside the country.
Preppers’ PING!!
We are a long way from another shooting war, because the non-shooting war has only started. One topic that will be explored will be nullification.

I don’t think something so massive could be done in time and I actually think it might get people to vote Obama.
But I think it would be good to do if Obama did get re-elected.
There is a scene in the movie “Ghandi” where Ghandi calls for a week of prayer and fasting.
A reporter says, “You mean a general strike.”
Ghandi gives the reporter a little wink and smile, “No, a week of prayer and fasting, but if people choose not to work...”
I hope so too...
I live on the "front line" in NYC and one block down is considered "the ghetto". My neighbors have held it since the early 80s through constant vigilance and hard work.
For the elections, I've stocked up enough supplies for several months, installed rolling shutters on the ground floor and a few steel plate "ornaments" on the roof. A few of my ex-military buddies will be joining me for an election night party.
Once O loses and it begins, of course we'll call the cops first. If they respond like the LAPD did in the 90s, it's gonna be a Korean Roof Party.
“American Idle”? Surely that’s a typo or a very nice play on words.
Another topic to be explored is educating the public about their rights and responsibilities as jurors. Before the War of Northern Aggression, many juries would not vote to convict a person charged with helping runaway slaves and the law became unenforceable.
No, America is destined to die from ignorance, and who better than Obama to make us swallow that pill?
No. People will be enthralled with Kim Kardashian as she starts dating men and women.
Snooki will get a contract for $20 million to play the lead role in the next Titanic movie.
The Situation will pursue his dream to be a professional baseball player and will earn the MVP award for being the best bench sitter during a World Series.
Gay people will start pushing for their next human right of dating unicorns and people will watch breathlessly as homosexual men ride their steeds in commercials, declaring:
“I’m on a horse!”
If Romney wins, there may be riots in the big urban areas.
Good.
I agree. Riots in big urban areas will likely be a good thing.
