Most Americans agree that the Democrat and Republican establishments are infested by individuals whose allegiance is not to their country, but to themselves and their political party. Their aim is to be unconstrained by the Constitution and the rule of law and unaccountable to the American people. Their conduct is driven by political expediency and winning elections for the sole purpose of obtaining power and profit.
The US has elections, but it no longer has representative government. The US has a free press, but one that is partisan and dishonest.

So who do you think is the best possible candidate to run against a Dim and the mainstream press. I fear we are doomed but if you think you have some kind of insight, I’d like to hear it. I can’t think of a person who would have been more likely to take out Obama than Romney.

I just saw a Romney ad. It was another I-can-manage-the-welfare-state-better-than-Obama ad. I wanted to pull my hair out. It’s not enough for him to smile and tell the public his plan is better than Obama’s because he says it is. He has to tell the public why. In short: he has to tell the public Obama’s policies will fail because Obama is a leftist. Unfortunately, that he will not do. I still pick him to win the election, but he should be blowing Obama out of the water.

The answer may lie in another question. What core values and shared sense of identity do the following groups have?
White suburban middle class Christians
Hispanic illegal immigrants and their children
African American urban poor
Wealthy secular Ivy League educated urban whites
Poor rural whites
Middle class African American government employees
First generation Muslim immigrants from Pakistan and the Middle East
Retired elderly whites on fixed incomes
Young unemployed college graduates with liberal arts degrees from average state universities and no name private schools.
First generation Asian immigrants
White males age 55 and above unemployed for more than 12 months
Members of Congress and senior government bureaucrats
Educators
Do all of the above share a strong sense of pride in the country, it’s history, the founder’s vision of limited government and individual liberty? Do they have respect for private property, a commitment to the rule of law, a common definition of right and wrong, a strong sense of personal responsibility? Are they willing to die to protect the country and their neighbors? Are they tolerant of differences of opinion and lifestyles or do they wish to impose their beliefs on others?
Unfortunately, we are a society that values “diversity” not common values. We do not even share a common definition of freedom. To some freedom is being able to live life with minimal government. To others it means government enabling them to enjoy all forms of licentious behavior with zero responsibility for the consequences. To an increasing number it means enjoying a government defined and provided minimum standard of living without having to put forth any effort.
