OUR COVENANT WITH GOD
Abram accepted the covenant God offered him, "I Am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers." Abram fell face-down, and God said to him, "As for me, this is my covenant with you: you will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram: your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations." (Genesis 17:1-5).
Like Abraham, we also have a covenant with God; we are asked by God to "walk before Him" loving one another as He has loved us. When we are in covenant with God, we humbly submit ourselves, innocent from self-centered interest, to obey His commands to love our God with all of our being, and to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Fulfilling the covenant with God, Abraham received the blessing of familial prosperity. God's desire is to grant prosperity to each of our lives. Are we faithful in our love of God and each other?

Dear God:
I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman,
Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, or National Guardsman
Feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is loving kindness,
And with Him is abundant redemption.
And He will redeem Israel
From all his iniquities.
Psalm 130:7 & 8

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.
G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

Good evening, Kathy!
***HUGS***
A Blessed Lords Day to you and yours! Thank you very much for tonights Sunday Chapel thread. We who have served in the Military, and our families, know well the significance and salient meaning of Covenant. It binds us to one another in the chain of command as it binds all of the Church to Our Lord.
To all my military brothers and sisters, a Blessed Lords Day walk in safety in the path of Our Lord!

Initial Point
September 30, 2012
If you drive south of our home in Boise, Idaho, youll see a volcanic butte that rises out of the sagebrush on the east side of the road. This is the initial point from which the state of Idaho was surveyed.
In 1867, four years after Idaho was organized as a territory, Lafayette Cartee, the Surveyor General of the United States, commissioned Peter Bell to survey the new territory. Bell took a sledge and drove a brass post into a little knob on the summit of that butte, declaring it to be the initial point from which he began his survey.
The survey established the language of land description in Idaho: Townships are designated north and south of the initial point; ranges are designated east and west. With such descriptions, you always know exactly where you are.
We may read many books, but the Word of God is our initial point, the fixed reference point. John Wesley read widely, but he always referred to himself as a man of one book. Nothing can compare to the Book of books, the Word of God. When we allow the Bible to be our guide in all of life, we can say with the psalmist, How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! (Ps. 119:103).
Dear Lord, we are grateful for Your Book. In it
we learn of You and find guidance and direction
for our lives. Help us to learn to love Your Word
and to eagerly dig into its pages. Amen.
The Bible is like a compass: if followed, youre going in the right direction.
Read: Psalm 119:97-104
